  1. I have a question..... I just got my first feel on Monday and I am scared to take my medication. The doctor said it should be fine but I do not understand how it wont get stuck! I mean if you have to chew your food so much then how will my pills go down?? Please help I am not taking my medicine:confused:
  2. I know that my daughter had by-pass 7 years ago and has done amazing with it. She lost her weight very quickly and has kept it off. Now she was only 19 when she had it done but it is a life changing alteration!! I nursed her back to help and went through every step of it with her. I chose not to have it done because I did not think I would be able to handle it. It just depends on you!! I had my Lapband done Nov 19 and have lost 44 pounds. Now some of that was pre-op weight loss but I have lost weight since my surgery. I got my first fill yesterday so I am hoping I will begin to loose more weight!! Good luck at whatever you decide!!
  3. I was banded November 19, 2008. I have lost 44 pounds which is great but I have no idea where!!!! I tell everyone I think my wrist and feet have gotten smaller! I am not letting it get me down I know I will start seeing it in my clothes soon!!

  6. I got my first fill today! It was not that bad at all!! He put 3cc in my 14cc band. I go back in 6 weeks for more! I am back on liquids for a couple of days:thumbdown: As you can tell I am not excited about that!! I am hoping I will start to loose weight I have been at a stand still for the past 2 weeks!
  7. I was just banded on November 19 & luckily have not had anything like this happen. My question to anyone is does this kind of thing usuallly not happen right after you eat?? If I read this right it had been several hours since she had eaten.
  8. I am not an expert but peanut butter is a great source of protein! So I don't see what that would hurt! When I started my full liquid stage I ate peanut butter straight from a spoon. Now I just used a child spoon but it was good and helped with the craving!
  9. Yes i understand! When I was on clear liquids I craved things as well. Change up your flavor of SF popsickles that helped me!
  10. Well hello country! What part of Ga are you from? I live ijn Conyers which is east of Atlanta. I was banded on 11/19....how about you?
  11. Hey Sheri! I am from Conyers Ga which is not far from you at all! What hospital are you having your surgery at? I had mine at Newton Medical Center in Covington Ga on 11/19/08. I have not been able to go to my meetings at all, not because of distance but just works and kids and just being tired at the end of the day:frown::frown: I do my support on this sight and I love it!!
  12. I am not an expert by know means but I think you should talk to your doctor. You need to be drinking plenty of fluids so you do not dehydrate! Did he fill your band at surgery?? If he did he may need to unfill a little!
  13. I think that is great that with your problems you continued to have your port replaced! I hope naturally that I do not have problems but if i do i hope that I just don't give up and have them remove everything! Congrats to you and your weight loss, Hopefully 6 years from now I will feel happy with myself and my self esteem will improve!
  14. Some people seem to breeze right through the recovery process. Not me, I was banded Nov 19 and finally I think I am feeling 85% normal. I am still sore at my port sight and still don't feel comfortable lifting things! I do not want to mess anything up! I was not really hungry though, but I had been on a 3 week pre-op liquid diet so I think that helped shrink my stomach! Just take your medicine and walk as much as possible and take it easy! Let people help you if you can!!
  15. I am sorry to say that I agree with Carrie. I can't imagine spending nights with my friend just because and I certainly can't imagine being away from my husband on my anniversary! Look you have got to talk to your wife! Do not have an affair!!
  16. I wish I could help you but i haven't had my first fill yet. How big is your band? How many cc's did he put in? My band is a 14cc band and has been placed on Nov 19 but no fills until Dec 29. My doc said he would put in 5cc the first time!! Is that too much?? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!
  17. Congrats! You sound like you are doing well. You may get gas pains if you do I found that walking & taking gas X strips (they melt on your tongue) worked wonderfullly!!:cursing:
