Hernia! Good idea! I think my cover story will have to be that I am out of town for a few days. If I say I am having surgery I will end up on the Prayer Chain at church and the minister will come visit. Very sweet but I don't want to go there. I have enough problems without lying to a minister. Maybe we will make an imaginary trip to Jamaica. Last time we were there my cell phone didn't work there but they did have email in the hotel rooms.

Doh! Wait that cover story won't work. We would never go away for:wink2: Thanksgiving. This is going to require some fancy footwork....I am starting to feel like I have a hernia....http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/smilies/modern/wink.gif

A week from tomorrow!

One week from today will be clear fluids only.

I am strugglin' along on my pre-op, making it okay with a shake at lunch and breakfast and a normal, low carb dinner. Not droppingtons of weight but I am dropping and my pants are loose. I am ready to have this DONE.

EbonyRose, I am so glad your anemia got solved!

TOMORROW IS THE DAY!! I am excited to get this done and begin working on the next step. Exercise and healthy choices...

the best aprt of this whole thing is I'm a Trainer at my job and I have had to re-arrange my training for the surgery and everyone is freaking out because all they know is that I will be out of the office and it's killing them that I'm not saying why I will be out. The few people that have asked i told them I was have my Breasts enlarged.. (I'm a 36DD)LOL they look at me and go ok........ It will give them something to talk about for days!!!

Is there anyone from Florida being banded in November??

I just got banded on November 11th in Jupiter Fl. I'm doing great, a little sore, and very tired.

I only have 6 days left! I am on day 9 of this liquid only fast. It has sucked but I have made it so far. I am too scared to weigh myself so i don't know if I have lost any weight. Anyway I love to hear from you guys! We have all worked and are working hard to be thinner again!!!

You're an inspiration to me! I have to be on a 7 day, liquids only pre-op diet. I have been envying the people that get to have a lean cuisine one time a day. BUT, they have to do it for two weeks. I figured it was a trade off. Knowing that there is someone else out there that is doing the liquids only thing pre-op and having the strength to do it for a longer period of time, will really help me. Sorry. Me, me, me, it's all about me. I'm really surprised that your doctor is doing it this way. Isn't it weird the difference in surgeons protocol?

P.S. xtightend, you crack me up!!!!

Hello Evahbody!

I'm in such a good mood...not even a minor mess-up with my insurance is gonna get me down! My employer (Yale U) covers the lap band surgery 100%, but I also have secondary coverage through BC/BS with my hubby for local stuff like prescriptions.

Today, the surgeon's office called to say that BC/BS was listed as the primary, and the dumb folk at the hospital called them to get an authorization for the surgery! Of course BC/BS said "what the heck?" and then they were all a-tizzy. The surgeon's office is great - they just called me and told me to tell BC/BS that Yale is my primary, and away we go...simple process!

A 5 minute phone call, and I'm all set...I know this is just pre-op nonsense, and I'm not letting it get me down. I'm flying so high right now - I've only got three more days to wait and I'll be banded!:w00t:

Congrats to all the new forum visitors / members / posters...hang in there with the pre-op diet - it's definately worth it to make things easier for your surgeon!:w00t:

I'll keep checking in, and you'll definately hear from me when I get home on Tuesday afternoon...as a banded woman!

Hello to all you lapbanders!! I will join your ranks tomorrow and I must say I don't know whether I'm more excited or nervous. I will let you know my thoughts/feelings and maybe even can post a few tips relating to my experience next week. It's so nice to have a place to chat about my own experience and it's been very helpful to just "lurk" and learn from many of your posts. Onward and upward!!!!

I am so excited for all of us. I am scheduled for surgery on November 24th! I have been on the liquid diet for 5 days, 9 more days to go (if I don't jump off a ledge by then!!) You're all right about all surgeons giving different diets, it is frustrating. I would LOVE a Lean Cuisine or some real food right now.

Geez, you have been on a liquid diet for a long time. I am having surgery tomorrow a.m. and was instructed to go to liquids starting this morning!! I am going to try and go to bed early so I don't hear my tummy grumbling much longer. Good for you that you have been such a good patient and I think you've been through the tough part already.......Getting used to a liquid diet!! Good luck on the 24th!!
