EbonyRose I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. We want yu to be a November Bandster. Keep your chin up and all will be fine. My surgery is the 19th and I am ready. I am glad to read about the med information that ws posted. I was wondering how I could still take my meds. Anyone knwo what type of pain meds they give you after surgery?

My surgeon gave me samples of the Unjury. It is really good, smooth and not thick. I tried the chocolate and the chicken soup. I made a negative comment about the chicken soup when they gave it to me but it was like drinking chicken broth and satisfied my desire for "lunch". You can order it from UNJURY Medical Quality Protein Supplement: High Protein Supplement Uses Whey Protein Isolate. Great tasting whey protein supplements! - it has 40 carbs and 0 fat. The problem I have with the other drinks such as Slim Fast is the Sucralose which doesn't agree with me.

My date is November 20th. Just started the liquid phase today. Like everyone who has written, the emotions are a roller coaster. I was really surprised at being "sad" - but I guess losing a lifelong coping mechanism is bound to surface emotions.

Thanks for all the information on Unjury. I just ordered some. Chocolate and Chicken soup.

Greetings Ginny,

Things are going well today Friday. I feel very good. Concerning the meds, When I was in the hospital the dr. sent the Hospital Pharmacist to my room and helped me convert all my meds to powder or liquid as needed. Most of my meds stayed the same I just break open the capsules and put the powder in a little Water 1 tablespoon and follow it with some water. This works well for all my meds except the extended release. Those I had to substitue with other meds. However I am able to take meds that are the size of a small ibuprofen (round and small). So far no problems at all with the meds for my back. I hope all goes well for you concerning this issue. I am certian it will.

Hip! Hip! Hooray!

Thank you so much for the info! I feel a lot better now.

I am on Wellbutrin XL (can't be split) and my surgeon told me it will be fine, just take it with a bit of yogurt or applesauce ot help lubricate it through the stoma. No need to change meds.

WOW! Really? That's great, because that's the one I'm most worried about. If I go off of that for even a day or two, I really crash. Thanks so much!

My surgery is the 12th too. I was feeling very unsettled until the past few days...I am feeling much better and ready for the next chapter. I am a little nervous that my liver hasn't shrunk enough though! Good luck on Wednesday!

Hey Yall

For those of you discussing Protein drinks that are high in protein and low in carbs and fats, I would like to suggest the Nectars by Syntrax. You can order a sample of all of the flavors from enjoyhealth.com:eek:

I was on this site and saw that you could get 12 flavors for $22 which is a good deal for sample and see which ones you like and the good thing is the one I am trying right now (caribbean cooler) takes like a tropical drink and it is filling. Hope this post helps someone:smile2:

My surgery date is November 24th!! I'm sooo excited, nervous, not scared. Just ready for this to be over with!!!

On monday the 10th I have my pre-op appt at the hospital then the 12th pre-op with surgeon

I'm dying to know what the diet is prior to surgery!!!

Thank you for this information I will look it up and more than likely go ahead and order those 22 different flavors. So far have you found a flavor you like?

Im Soooooooooooo excited. Im self paying surgery with Dr Castro (TLC Edge in plano) on Nov 21st. I just cant wait. I start liquid diet on Monday.

I too am going to order the sample pack. I purchased at the Dr office the 2 lb of caribbean cooler and it is pretty good, if you like the taste of banana and coconut,, I heard some talking at the doctors office that fuzzy navel is good and the peach taste like a peach jolly rancher..

:tongue2:I have my surgery scheduled with Dr. Cywes on the 24th...that is awesome. what is the liquid diet like the one before surgery? Is it all clear liquid or just liquid.
