:smile2:Good morning to you all, Just dropping by to let you know that I am about 15 hours post op with the band.. So for those of you who have the surgery coming up...this has been a very positive experience for me. I am up and walking quite a bit to get relief from the gas and I am able to burp. I know that some folks have experienced problems in that area, but let me encourage you to walk. wak. walk. I am just a little sore at the incision sites but nothing that I can not handle and believe me I am a big baby:redface: when it comes to pain. So hang in there and keep getting excited about your upcoming surgery--a positive attitude will help you more than anything:thumbup:

I too am going to order the sample pack. I purchased at the Dr office the 2 lb of caribbean cooler and it is pretty good, if you like the taste of banana and coconut,, I heard some talking at the doctors office that fuzzy navel is good and the peach taste like a peach jolly rancher..

Hey Yall For those of you discussing Protein drinks that are high in protein and low in carbs and fats, I would like to suggest the Nectars by Syntrax. I cannot say THANK YOU enough to all of you have kept us posted about your surgery experiences. I still feel a little apprehensive but at the same time after reading all of your posts I am comforted also. I know that this not only applies to me but to the others who read this. Counting down to Nov 12th:tongue:

Well I will be a member of the november crowd also.. November 12th is the big day and I am getting more and more excited as the days tick away. I went for pre-op yesterday and that went fine and I am now reading all the info I can about how my life will change and what to expect. With that being said, I am very excited for all of us November babies, We need to put an end of month tally for weigh loss for the November newbies at the end of Dec to keep on encouraging us all as we bring in the new year. Hi Reshma, Well I can understand what you are talking about, I was initally mad that my insurance made me do the 7 month wait, but now I am glad I did have to wait. It has gave me time to come to some stark truths about myself, some good some not so good and then I came to the point like you did about ready for a change. I am sooo ready for a change and I know that I in order for the changes in my life to occur as I want them too that I can not hide behind food any longer. During this long wait, I have learned how to face issues and for me personally the ability to say NO now is a blessed word.

yes, lets stay in touch! We can be each others tag team support! No liquid diet yet, I called my doctor and they stated when I come for my preop on the 5th I will start.

Wow!! Just reading all the posts is an encouragement by itself. Too share the excitement of knowing your life is about to change and to actually read about the weight loss already occurring. Way to go 31lbs and counting, Bama2--Way to go. This is very uplifting for me!

I am writing to you from the beautiful state of Alabama. I am excited, nervous, and a jumble of emotions as I prepare to be banded on 11-12-08. I chose to join this forum for support, to give and receive and for accountability. As life gives me this 2nd chance, I hope to make the most of it and be successful. Life also gave me a 2nd chance at love. I just celebrated my first anniversary with my husband. We were high school sweethearts who were reunited at our 20th class reunion. I chose to have this surgery to become healthy, not just thin. I will consider the weight loss a "perk". Be there for me and I will return the favor and be your support also. Lets cheer each other on to victory!:thumbup:
