I have no idea philly as most people in this thread...I think all are bandsters...hope you can find out

Good luck trish. I start preop diet on Monday

I understand that there are mostly bandsters here. There aren't many good forums for sleeves. I just know that the operations are fairly similar in terms of incisions and things like that. Good luck to everyone!

Theres a sleeve forum on here on the main page under other surgeries.

phillyfawn - we've got a really experienced and knowledgeable former bandster on this forum who converted to the sleeve - her online name is MacMadame.

I bet she could help answer your questions or provide resources to help you find the answers. Do a search for her on the forum and then send her a message.

From what I've seen, she's a really nice person and very informed...good luck with the sleeve!

Mac isn't the former bandster that went to sleeve...but she is very informed in the sleeve and was sleeved about a month ago me thinks. Wasabubblebutt is the former bandster that went sleeve due to problems. They are both very informed in the sleeve.

Started my pre-op diet yesterday. I was starved!!! Today is not too bad. I am just learning that I can't snack all the time like before.

My pre-op diet is Protein Shake for Breakfast & lunch and a WW, lean cuisine frozen dinnner. broth & sugar free Jello and popicles all I want.

The Protein Shakes or ok! Just ok! I just had the Atkins strawberrry shakes today mixed with fresh bananas and strawberries and it was really good. Quite yummy!!! I drank the slim fast high Protein shakes yesterday and they have a bad after taste but not too bad! I think this will be ok. I was really stressing out about this but now I think it is going to be ok.

Thanks!

Surgery date: 11/18/08

Well---tomorrow is my surgery date!! I've been on liquids for 2 wks now--did the colon cleanse thing last night (not so fun)..so I guess I'm ready!

I'm actually not nervous at all--I'm sure tomorrow I might be,but it just feels so right, no need to be nervous!

I started my 2 week liquid diet yesterday also, and am also allowed a lean cusine meal for dinner. My surgery date is November 18th. I am dreading the 2 weeks of liquid but, excited about the surgery. Good luck to all November Bandsters!

Mine was strictly liquids---I wonder why Dr's do it differently? It really wasn't that bad. Day 4-5 were pretty bad, I got a migraine. I think I just didn't get in enough calories. I'll also be on liquids for 2wks after the surgery...

I also have a November date. November 26th. I Start the liquid diet on the 12th. Does anyone know much about the liquid diet??

There seems to be a wide variety of them!!! Liquids mean different things to different docs. Did yours give you a diet?

Like MLJALWAYS said, there's quite a variety of the liquid diet out there. Mine was strictly liquid for 2 wks. I needed to stay right around 1000-1050 calories. I could have 16oz of V-8 type juice and OJ also, otherwise, Clear Liquids.

So this is what I typically eat during the day.

Breakfast: Jello Jigglers, 4oz Protein shake, apple juice

Snack: Gatorade, SF jello cup

Lunch: 4oz Protein Shake, broth mixed with V-8 juice (wamed up, tastes like soup- way yummy!)

Snack: OJ, Special K2O Water, SF Jello

Supper: 4oz protein shake, broth w/ V-8 "soup"

Snack: Glass of juice, popsicle, Tea

Then I could have as much sugar free jello or beverages as I wanted to---if I still felt hungry.

Unfortunately I am a diabetic so I do not get regular juices, everything has to be sugar free. ARGHHHHHHHHH

I start preop on monday!!! Can't wait! I also see the surgeon that day! Woohooo! Come on monday come quicker!!
