Hi Everyone,

I am 26 i was banded last year on 21/09...since then i have lost 48 pounds...i was 235 originally...

now my problems are following,

1) my weight has plateaued for last 3 months...have barely lost 3 pounds...had a fill too but no help

2) I am getting horrendously bloated ...my belly feels so taut all the time...filled with all taht air...n yes that means i have flatulence...

3) And I am not having a smooth bowel movement...i always feel constricted...

ah sorry to load u guys with all this pvt personal info...but i need help...my doctor is not the most sympathetic or helpful of them all...each consultation which lasts for not more that 4 mins costs me 300 bucks...and i cant change doctors cause he is teh only one offering banding in Dubai...my city....

When I plateaued I increased my exercise and my Protein and it helped. Also, you need to speak to your doctor about having a UGI or an x-ray to see what is happening with your stomach. Try to increase your Fiber also to see if that helps. If your bariatric doctor is not being very helpful then find a primary care physician to see if they can be more sympathetic and helpful. And congratulations on your weight loss! Plateauing is normal so don't stress so much!

Lactose intolerance is common after banding, for reasons not well understood. I never had flatulance until I became lactose intolerant. Probably easiest thing to do is try Lactaid or similar product with any dairy you have and see if that solves the problem.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
