Pain in port area?

Recommended Posts

I had my lap band almost 2 years ago, never had any problems, I am within 10 lbs of my dream weight- I hit my goal weight a good year ago. I had my surgery in Mexico, the Dr. was fantastic- no issues there, but I have nobody to go to right now and I'm alittle concerned about something.

A few weeks ago Dh and I were wrestling with the kids and I stretched and arched my back and felt a sharp pinch where my port is. Sharp enough pain that I stopped playing with the kids.

It was tender and sore there for a few days and has kind of been tender ever since.A little tender to the touch and I get the pinch feeling if I stretch.

I can feel my port pretty well, it is in the same position it always has been. I have no bruising or swelling of any sort- just a pinchy pain that isn't "knock me on my rear" painful but enough to make me notice. Everything about my band is functioning the same.

Anyone else experience anything like this? Ideas as to what happened? I'm not too worried about it, just wondering if anyone else had this happen.

Hi I have been having the same port pain that you describe. I have pinching and pain when I move or twist in a certain way. I was just wondering if your pain and pinching ever went away or did you require revision surgery? I have been having this for over 2 weeks now ever since I picked up a 35 pound dog. Well I hope to hear back from you soon. Thanks in advance.

I have the same pain. I had it a few weeks after surgery and it went away. Now I'm experiencing it 6 weeks post op. It happens when ever I bend over or twist certain ways. Bending over is super hard. I've been picking up my kids too and they are both little, but one weighs more then 24lbs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
