Better fills with or without Fluoroscopy

Recommended Posts

Our doctor does it each time he does a fill. He wants to make sure there is no problem with the band, flow of liquid, food and that you are not to tight etc. I have not had a fill without the x-ray so Iam not sure how well that works. I think you will see that people will agree on either side of this issue. I do not think it is a black and white issue.

That's the x-rays right? Well if it is, my doctor now does it for every fill. I was one of the patients who's band was too tight and i got so so sick. My stomach became swollen shut and i had to be completely deflated. I would have perefered they started doing those a long time ago.

I havent had to have it. My surgeon fills my band all the way up, has me sit up and sip Water, he slowly lets the saline out till I feel the water go down and he stops.

My doctor only does Fluro... He said there is less room for error that way plus he can look at the band and make sure everyhting is good.

I don't think now I woud be comfortable doing it any other way.

my first fill was done under flouro and not enough saline was used which left me even more hungry than i was before the first fill.

my second fill was NOT done under flouro and i'm pretty sure i've found that "sweet spot".

My fill doctor uses fluro each and every time and a barium swallow. That being said she way underfilled me. 3 cc. was too tight, the barium wouldnt go thru to my stomach, so she took out all but 1.8 cc, which was way way too low.

It might be great, but they might also underfill you and not want you as tight as you want to be. I sure needed more of a fill than I got, and she had all the equipment there.

I have only had fills under flouro and I have had a great deal of success with it. My doctor fills me until I am completely closed off, then he pulls back 1/8 cc at a time until the liquid "just" starts to slowly flow through. I have had great restriction and have never been overfilled.

I like flouro because you get a chance to see what is going on inside.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
