Remember the band is just a tool so it's not a magic bullet. It's not going to lose the weight for you so delaying it by a couple of days isn't really doing you any harm. In fact, you will probably lose more weight on your pre-op diet than you will post-op and before your first fill which can be between 4-6 weeks depending on your doctor. The more you lose before the surgery, the better off you are so look at this as an opportunity to lose a bit more before your surgery.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know when you are so dissapointed it is hard to look at the bright side, but.... something bad could have happened to you had they done the surgery today (so it's a good thing they didn't) -and- Wed is not that far away.

I am sure on Wed you will have a good, safe surgery. Again, I am so sorry this happened to you.

We understand the frustration. But hang in there girl, not even 2 more days now! There's always a reason and sometimes, it's in our best interests--even tho it is hard.

In the grand scheme of things, consider this a "blip." Have a Wonderful Wednesday and Get Well Soon.

I was just banded thurs, the 21st of aug. Ironically, that whole morning I kept thinking, something is going to go wrong, and they would delay the surgery, but luckily it didn't. Keep the faith because I am now 4 days post op and I am so happy

Hang in there, I haven't had my surgery yet either and the waiting seems forever so I know that 2 days does seem like a long time, especially when you were mentally prepared to have it today. Even if we don't understand it, everything happens for a reason and whatever that reason is, you are probably better off having your surgery on Wednesday. Try to stay positive and it will be here soon. Have a safe surgery and Best of Luck with your band!!

I would be crying.....you are entitled to feel very dissapointed after such a huge build-up that we all feel and then the dreadful letdown. At least it is going to happen and Wed. is just the day after tomorrow!,,But, if you are like me, when something is expected at a certain time, well then it should happen then....I go to pieces too. Please hang on, it WILL HAPPEN!

dont be stressed out, be glad they found your potasium levels, low potassium levels, are dangerous, it effects the heart rhythms, better to wait a few days, get that sorted out, then to go into a fatal heart rhythm in theatre, or later back in your room. what is another 2 days, in the rest of your life, i know its dissappointing, but put it into the now. good luck for wednesday.

I wonder why they didn't give you a potassium run before the procedure? Anyway, good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
