Help from year long banders

Recommended Posts

Hello my name is Nycia, from DYT Ohio, i was banded on 03/20/2007, back in december i had a bad experience with being over filled and i had to go in and let the doctor remove Fluid so i decieded what the heck i am not going back for 2 months well that 2 months turned to 7 months and a gain of 20lbs, please advise if the fluid dissepates out of the band after a while. Thanks

I've been, where I was going to wait a bit of time after an emergent unfill, and ended up waiting several months ending in gain. It's time to see your fill doctor again! As far as Fluid dissapating, I think the tiniest amount is known to leave. What size band do you have and what is your fill level? This isn't the end, you just need to get back to a good level of fill and get back on the track of weightloss. I think it's harder to make the "decision" to start loosing again, than when we were first banding and it came as part of the package.

Good luck to you!

I have the smallest size band (4) and in december was filled to 3.5, but if my memory serves me right i started eating because i was stressed that i had to go back and get the Fluid out because i hiccuped and burped for 45mins straight and there was no way to stop it other than go back and get the fluid removed.

Now i can eat a full appetizer, salad, meal and polish off desert.

It is very hard to get back the motivation I had when i first started. I lost 60lbs in about 7 months, my last fill i was 190 and today i sit here at 215? Very discouraging and that makes me wanna eat even more

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
