Just wondering if you are allowed to eat salads and how well they are tolerated. I think it might be a good choice when eating out but haven't had any lettuce since I was banded in Jan. I have great restriction and am loosing weight well. Any salad eaters out there??

Hi Teanne,

I happened to be eating a salad when I came across your post. I am able to tolerate salads very well. I just have to eat really slow and chew chew chew! I have fairly good restriction although it fluctuates at times.

Alfi-thanks for the response. I am going out to lunch tomorrow and will have a nice salad with lots of Protein on it. We had out lapbands the same month. I had mine on 1/28 and I am down 38 lbs. I could probably loose faster but my eating habits are less then stellar. But I am loosing and I am happy with that. Talk to you later.

I love salads. I have Olive Garden's often as I can. But most times I make it at home.

Lettuce

tons of cheese

potato sticks

beets

croutons

1000 island dressing

The best!

Hello Band Twin,

I was also banded on Jan 28th. I have been able to eat salads. My last fill has given me great restriction that I havent tried salads yet. I will try it when I am at home to make sure it goes down well.

It must be an individual thing, b/c I can't eat salad at all. It gets stuck, regardless of how much I chew.

Like everything else, try one bite and see how it feels and then proceed accordingly.

Salads are great! I haven't had any issues tolerating them.

Just be careful not to sabotage yourself with all the stuff you don't need; quite a lot of fat and calories (and carbs, if you watch those) hide in salads in the form of additions, garnish, and dressings. Lettuce, spinach, etc. are great, but not doused in weight-loss-unfriendly ingredients.

Chew them well, eat slow, and you'll find what you can handle best.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
