  2. I would recommend to call your doctor. also the alcohol could have irritated the stoma. I didnt have a drink until 3 or 4 months out. kathy
  3. I have UHC as well and my drs office went out of network in July. I have what is call Gap Exception and now my fills are covered. First call your drs office and get the codes they bill to the insurance company. then call UHC and ask for a Care Coordinator and ask about Gap Exception. You will need the code for morbid obesity and the coded for the fills. Good luck, Kathy
  4. How long do you stay satisfied? for me its 4 to 5 hours. Also how many calories are you getting in for the day? I stay satisfy for a good 4 hours plus on about 1 cup of food with about 1000 to 1200 calories a day. Hope that answers your questions.
  5. Hi, My doctors office recently went out of network with my insurance. I was able to get Gap Exception where the doctors office provided me codes for treatment including fills. You may call your insurance and doctors office to see if they have anything like that. Good luck, Kathy
  6. Hello Band Twin, I was also banded on Jan 28th. I have been able to eat salads. My last fill has given me great restriction that I havent tried salads yet. I will try it when I am at home to make sure it goes down well. Kathy
  7. You may need a slight fill. Just make sure to drink a cup of water at the doctors office to make sure your not too tight. My last fill a couple of weeks ago was a .30....it was just enough. I just have to remember to take tiny bites and chew chew and chew. Kathy
  8. Wow....this thread came at the right time. I have been fighting the head hunger and Im bored syndrome...Today is a new day and I am starting out fresh and with a clear mind. Thank you everyone for your wonderful tips to put me back on track...I so needed this thread. Kathy
  9. Banded, Don't worry....You are in the healing phase. Some people even gain weight at this time. Once you start getting your fills and watching your calories...the pounds will start coming off. Good luck, Kathy
  10. oops...typo....50 pounds
  11. Usually the doctor decides when he goes in and finds out the size of your stomach. My doctor thought because of my weight he would use a 14 cc band, however once he got in the 10 cc band was a better fit. Kathy
  12. From my understanding if you can eat more than a cup to a cup and a half and are hungry before 3 or 4 hours...time for a fill. Also make sure to eat Protein first ...i do 3 to 4 onces, then veggies then fruit or starches. Hope this helps. Kathy
  13. I forgot...I have a 10 cc band. Kathy
