I think im the Biggest one here! :-( My Introduction

Recommended Posts

Hi Krystal...

We here truely understand the battle you have with food...and the desire to to better. It doesn't matter what weight you start at. It only matters that you are starting the journey. We are here to listen, understand and praise you...and sometimes to scold you ( I've seen it done) when you need it.... We are blessed to have this new beginning. Just think what a joy it will be to run and play with your daughter... She will never remember you big... She will never have the issues you have with food...and in the long run you will learn to be on the outside what you are in the inside.

Well I got you beat by a long shot-- I was 441 presurgery. There are also others that weight more than you --so sorry to burst your bubble but you will have to gain a bunch of weight to try to claim the "I am biggest title"....lol. Not that you really want that title.

Congrats!

Krystal, Welcome to a new world. I would never change my choice on getting the band. I love it and how much it helps control the portion. Good Luck-you CAN do this!

Krystal,

Thanks for sharing your story with us.

It sounds like you have the right attitude to prepare for this journey.

And do it now before you spend your later years regretting what you didn't or couldn't do because of your weight.

I'll be banded a week ahead of you so read all of our posts so you are mentally prepared. As I walk through this journey, reading through the posts of those before me is making this so much easier.

Good luck. Celeste

Krystal, I'm a lot older than you and wish that I could have gotten my band a long time ago. But maybe you and I weren't ready for our bands any earlier. You have a beautiful daughter that will help you get the exercise that you need. Have you ever tried a recumbent exercise bike? That might be a good place to start...takes the stress off of your joints. Best of luck to you!

Hi Krystal,

I was 362 lbs when I started my band journey and the 300's just whipped right past in a matter of a few months. It has slowed down a bit now but I was thrilled to have lost 95 lbs after just one year. I thought I was the biggest for a long time too (and probably was at points) but like everyone else, I strived to just be smaller. I'm thrilled with my progress. Best of luck thru your surgery and keep us posted, Teresa

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
