It's true that you need to get your Protein but you will find that when your hair starts falling out--it will continue until your weight loss stabilizes. There are studies that demonstrate that: 1) Hair loss during extreme weight loss is very common, 2) it WILL all grow back when you stop losing weight, 3) it is not a sign that anything is wrong, and 4) the biological/medical cause for it is not known but they do know it's not associated with poor/low nutrition or essential blood counts. In general, there is nothing you can do except buy a wig IF the hair loss gets so extreme that you have noticeable Patches. Most people don't lose to that extreme. I have been losing my hair too (a lot) and I'm not thrilled but I also am not worried because I was on a total 11 Liquid Protein drink diet many a number of years ago and lost even more than I'm losing now. It all grew back so I'm here to tell you not to worry or panic. It WILL grow back. Good Luck.

People who have gastric bypass often lose their hair if they don't get enough Protein because they have the malabsorption issue. However, lapband surgery does not usually cause Hair loss unless are having a reaction to the anesthesia used during surgery. Try increasing your protein to 80-100 grams/day - it's hard with a tiny pouch but you can do it easily with good quality bariatric protein supplements (not the kind body builders use!). You also need to be taking a good Multivitamin. (Ensure and Boost aren't what wls patients need......we need products like whey Gourmet, EAS, Matrix, nectar, etc).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
