I forgot to mention something else i do...since I have a prob with leaking toward the front I take the pads that do have the extended back....and turn them the opposite way....so the longer part is upfront...i have never once leaked downward..lol

Well I'm glad I'm not the only who has to do that. I've been plagued with the perpetual period, pretty much non-stop for the last year. Though when it's not that time of the month it's just light spotting/flow, when it IS that time of the month it's like the flood gates have been opened. I sometimes even go so far as to double up and do one of the long, overnight ones, turned around, and then one of the smaller ones perpendicular to it. (I've seriously debated Depends. How sad is that??)

I will be SOOOOOO glad to be done with all this unopposed estrogen!

Though I'm pretty sure Always will go bankrupt once I return to having normal periods. :embaressed_smile:

I'm a pad girl now. I tend to have pretty light periods, just one day of light flow and a couple of days of spoting, so it's too light to justify using a tampon.

I'm not on BCPs at the moment, but when I am, I take those so I only have a period every 3 or 4 months, so it's even less of a bother.

Haha I sometimes think the same thing (makers going bankrupt), I thought I was dumb for using pads this way, but it works well.

:thumbup:I use tampons...unbleached from Trader Joes. Also, I am taking Seasonique birth control, 4 periods a year and no spotting. Lovin it!!!

tampons for me, for me pads are too "ick". I don't like the feeling, and I don't care how thin, long, winged (aerodynamic??) they might be that alll feel like a matress resting between my legs!

I know this may sound weird but tampons are so uncomfortable for me. Once I put them in they just feel awkward. That has been the case for me since I was young. I would much rather wear them but sometimes it is painful.

If it is painful, you probably don't have it far enough in. You shouldn't be able to feel it if it is in right.

I use tampons and the instead cups. My MIL told me about the cups, and they are great, but I still am not 100% sure about using them at night. I love Playtex, thats what I used growing up, so thats what I'm used to! The only issue I've had with the cup is that I forget that it's there and then have to rush to the bathroom! eek! lol! i'd love to go have an iud put in or something. DH is deployed and we're pretty sure we're done having kids, but he hasn't gotten to spend more than 3 weeks with his daughter yet, so he wants to wait to get a Vas. just in case. ugh! :biggrin:

I have an IUD. While hubby is deployed, I wouldn't use any birth control (no reason to). Before he came home the last time, I got paragard.

I like it except for the periods. My periods are heavier now, much heavier! And cramps from hell! I can time my cramps out (usually 7 minutes) during the second day of my period. It sucks, its like being in labor every month.

I had checked into the IUD before i got it, but did not see anything about the heavier periods and more cramping until after I got it. The only reason i don't get it out, i know it's going to hurt to take it back out. (putting it in, they said it would be like "mild cramping"- Bullsh**! a friend had given me a pain pill, just in case, i was so grateful she did. it was beyond "mild cramping")

eegads! thats scary! I'll have to look into it and talk to my doctor about it. my sister has one, so I'll ask her questions too.

Due to intermittent vagnismus I can't use tampons, so I'm a surfboard girl all the way. I find at my heavier times I have to use two, end to end with a little over lap. I can leak in any direction lol, so I've found this works for me.
