Me too! I keep worrying my liver will be too big, since I've cheated on the pre-op diet. However, I know that, as my BMI is lower than 40, my liver shouldn't be HUGE to begin with. My doctor said to just keep it healthy, and that the liquids are not all that important until afterward! It was a relief to hear that!

Yeah, I still have over 3 weeks to go and I am stressing about my testing this week, and the Optifast diet, and then there is the whole other issue of what will my gynecologist say about a completely different problem... and, oh, you name it.

I am SO ready to get several months past this! But one day at a time is how we have to play it.

Let's all take a few deep breaths and try to relax a bit. Lots of other people have done this and we can, too.

Congratulations to last weeks surgical folks, good luck to this weeks surgical success stories, and let's get to next week!!! I am ready for my turn.

Although my doctor did not say I had to do a liquid diet pre op, I decided to do it anyway. (Call me crazy I know) It has been 36 hours - Yikes this is hard. I want to loss 5-10 prior to surgery, so together we drink our Protein shakes and sip our soup! Sippers unit.

You are all keeping me going.:)

Guess who got her band today?? I did! I did!

Just thought I'd pop in with an update. Everything went well. The port area basically hurts like a mutha, but there's no pain at all from the other incisions. And no real gas pain. I took Gas X as soon as I got back to my hotel room, though

I'm not gonna sugarcoat the pain thing...there is a good deal of pain, but nothing unbearable, and I've been able to nap off and on. I don't really have any complaints. And while I don't know firsthand, I figure having a baby is much worse.

The port/incision doesn't hurt when i'm lying down or sitting in a chair...just when I'm trying to get up...or when i'm standing. All in all it could be so much worse, though. And the heating pad feels good.

I haven't eaten in 24 hours and it will be another 15 or so (after my swallow test in the morning)...but I've never looked so forward to Tomato Soup in my entire life!!

Okay, this was just a newbie update. If anyone has any questions that I now may be able to answer, feel free to drop me a note.

The not even drinking part at this point seems like it would be unbearable. Aren't you starving? How are you handling it? Can you have Water?

Today is day 4 for me. Still not doing as well as I thought. My intistines are still not making their own gas and still in pain. Can't find any doctors to see me that does Lap Band surgery. They all suggested going to the ER. I am sure if I go to the ER my insurance will not pay for it so I am going to wait 1 more day. I have absolutely no restriction and can swallow pills and eat anything. Any one else have this? I am starting to kick myself for not looking into better places to have Lap Band than Bajanor where I went.

Hope every one else is doing well!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
