Rockin and a Rollin

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow Texans!!!!!!!!! I am new to the site and have been made to feel very welcome so far. My Nameis Mark and I play in a local Dallas/Ft. Worth band. I am scheduled for surgery on April 19th with Dr. Smith in Ft Worth and I can't wait. I would very much like to meet as many of you as possible so from time to time I will post an invitation as to when/where our group will be playing and would like to personally invite any and all to come out for a good time. We play all kinds of music and really love to bring the crowd into the action. We are in kind of a Hiatus from the club scene at the moment with doing several outdoor benefits and private weddings/parties. However June 4th we will be at Hanks Grill in McKinney Texas from 8:30 - 12:30. If anyone is in the area I would love to meet you. You can always check out our website at www.souldoubtband.com

for other dates as well.

Thanks Much.

yes we are playing at the race this weekend. It's going to be a blast. Saturday night in the campgrounds. We have several sponsors who put this show on for the campers there.

My other guitarist cut his gigging teeth in Vegas. We play everywhere actually. So Maybe we can set something up in Vegas in the near future. I would love to go back. in my other life I sell irrigation systems for Golf Courses and we have several installations in Vegas. My favorite was the MGM Grand Course they built in Boulder about 5-6 years ago.

Hi Mark, I just took a peek at your site. Which one are you?

I am the Svelt (tongue in cheek) Guitar player with the goatee and silver hair, or as my son says, Platinum highlights.

Hey Lisa. I am Ready!!!!!!!!!!! I better be by golly.........Yes ma'am I do gig quite often. I did about 200 shows last year and that sure did take a toll on this big boy...........Whew!!!!!!!! I tell ya. You guys give the word and this band is headed your way. We just need a heads up. that's all. We are ready for the races this weekend and then we have a few outdoor festivals this summer so I have slacked off on a lot of the clubs. My heart is where the kids are. I love to play gigs at festivals where there are children. I love to see their eyes light up when they see a band for the first time. You just don't get that in the clubs but the clubs help pay the bills. Plus we do a lot of charity events for organizations such as The Down Syndrome Guild in Dallas. My boys are 16 and 14 and they actually help papa out with the shows. The ironic thing is neither play an instrument but someday maybe they will. Hey thanks for the welcome. I can ramble on for hours if you let me. They say I could talk the ears off a wooden Indian.

Hey Mark! Sending you a welcome from Houston! I know you must be excited that you're just a couple of days away from surgery.. I'm pre-band, just waiting for insurance approval. Even if I have to self pay, I'm convinced this is a safe tool and the right thing for me. Keep us posted on how things go for you during the next few days. Take it easy, take a pillow!! :cheeky (I've heard they're necessary for the first few days after surgery)

Karla

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
