Common Problem Foods

Recommended Posts

I have a friend that would say, You just had the "Oh S_ _ _ fill". Much weight loss will follow. I just had a new band put in the other slipped and made me miserable. I am feeling pretty normal and not having a fill until early Dec. So needless to say weight loss is not happening quite the opposite. It is a downer, but once I have the o s fill I will look forward to losing the rest of my weight.

What will I be able to eat for Protein if steak, roast, and pork are off limits. I thought moderation was the key issue and to chew very well?:scared2:

I don't know if this will help anyone but the crock pot is the best way to cook all your red meats it makes it real tender just put a little beef bullion or even some low fat campbell beef consume and let it cook all day it just falls apart and you don't have to struggle so much with it I make all my stews and chicken and everything in the crockpot plus my family loves it to..

Happy 2010! I have been banded for nearly 7 months. I have 4ccs in a 10cc band. I can't really eat anything in the morning. I have to drink something hot (usually coffee) for my Breakfast (8ish). I really don't get hungry until 10:30 and then I eat a fiber bar. As for foods that give me trouble on a consistent basis: dry meat, rice, donuts, doughy bread, broccoli, and celery. I am in a deep and committed relationship with seafood. :tongue2: Scallops, shrimp, crab, and fish go down w/o a problem. Chinese food also really agrees w/ me (egg drop Soup, lo mein, stir fry, teriyaki chicken).

DANG! Now I'm hungry.

buy a pill cutter (any pharmacy...rite aid, walgreens, etc...) cheap too.... cut your pills in 1/2, 1/4s etc... works like a charm....

I can't eat chicken at all. :) It was a staple in my diet before.

I was banded by Dr. Groves in March 2009 and am at a standstill. I have a weigh-in on Monday, possible fill.

I hate those days. I am always disappointed.

Glad to read all your posts and know I'm not alone. I can't eat before noon so within an hour of waking I have a chocolate Atkins shake ( kept at room temp) mixed with coffee. That way I jump start my metabolism and the warm liquid goes down easily. Sometimes only Soup for lunch, sometimes Im ok. There are only two food that I have found that I cant eat. Bean sprouts and get this...bananas! What a bummer! I do the chewy Vitamins, and am going today to buy a pill splitter which was a great idea, for the big Vitamin D. I found Krill pills for the Omega 3 which are a manageable size. I had benefiber to one of my crystal light drinks during the day!

You all are the best, thank you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
