MY Mother Said...........

Recommended Posts

Hi Tina,

I am fortunate that I have a supportive mom for my lapband (she cried with happiness when I told her I made the decision to get one...she has been so worried about my health). BUT a dear young friend of mine had a lot of questions and didn't understand. He considers me a very strong person and I guess I am in a lot of ways, but I explained to him that it took me a very long time (years in fact) to ask for this kind of help. After 20 years of being obese, I had to humble myself that I couldn't do this without major help....for me it was my band and I am so thankful for it. Wish you all the best. It's so hard when it's out parents, isn't it?

Vinesqueen, Our Mothers must have used the same parenting book. lol Parenting 101 on How To Make Kids Fell This Small.

When I was young I wanted to go to Art School, she said "You can't go to art school, we have no money" I said good then maybe I'll get some free money. But she didn't hear that, selective hearing, Just a couple yrs ago I wanted to go to cooking school again she" you can't go, your to messy" because I didn't clean as I cooked. I get a good laugh out of it now. Did you know they have a MESS TEST to get into cooking school????LOL Whatever !!

Next time I will nod my head and say yes, o.k nod, smile, nod , right, right, nod, o.k, smile o.k now bye bye.

Everyones advice, word of wisdom are so appreciated, I really need to hear them. AAHHH !! I said the word need, that was hard.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
