Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

All you people do is complain...

I think it also needs to be said that while there are plenty of successful bandsters on this forum that hang out, the people who have no complications and no irritations related to the band aren't inclined to post on here like the people who are struggling, and therefore need support. I think on ANY type of support forum, you are going to find that to be true, no matter what the topic of support is.

Besides, didn't posting this thread go against your own rule?

I guess I'm just not inclined to be diplomatic tonight...

this "poster" has 10 posts...is '21' (21 is the new 15!) and no not all 21 year olds are babies...but her lack of reply to the constructive explinations here shows she most likely just wanted to start a fight thread! Many people can't get a multi-page thread of interest going without throwing down fighting words.

To the original poster...it's a support forum...people need support...people sometimes need to cry, whine, or yell to work through things. Apparently the entire concept of a support forum eludes you.

I am totally thankful for this sight...I can't tell you how many times it answered a question I had...quelled a fear...or got me back on track.

Well, I guess I served my purpose on this particular thread...to make it longer and confirm that all we do it bitch here!

The end

There are people who are throwing up all the time and are miserable. They come here and we tell them that's not the way it's supposed to be. We advise them to have some fill taken out. They do that, and they are happy that they posted about their problem and that we could help.

I have read many, many posts from people who were helped by posting here. Some people are very far away from their doctors and can get answers quick here.

Thank God and Alex for LBT!

I vote we kill the thread! The original poster doesn't care anyway, we are just talking to ourselves!

Moved to RnR since that's really all OP was doing. Post away.

Maybe we should request that our members only post the good things. Suerly that will give everyone an honest idea of what the depth of band experiences out there looks like.

I realize that everyone has a story as to why they're fat, but PLEASE! I was so excited about my surgery until all you people scared me!

"They can't find my port and stuck me 100 times,"

"I'm gaining so much weight,"

"I throw up all the time."

Do you realize that if you took all the time you have complaining and actually did something about your problems, they would probably be gone?

One in every hundred people actually posts something productive... the rest are wastes of time and are just here to scare people.

I know I'm complaining about those who are complaining, but I just wanted to let you know... before you post your next thread... stop and read it. If it's bitchin'... don't post it.:)

I completely support what you have to say! Bravo!!!

I am inclined to agree with pretty much all of the posts stated above but well I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in as well...

Yes, you are right there are some complainers, there are some whiners, there are some naturally bubbly and helpful people. Welcome to life. I'd rather read the good, the bad and the ugly to know what I am getting into rather than just read about sunshine and rainbows and have no idea what REALLY happens post bands or the fears that you can have post band to find out that it's a stage or fear that everyone can go through.

Sure some threads and posts make me shake my head in "wtf'ness" but YOU choose which threads you want to read and which you want to respond to. If you want to know the in's and the out's of life before, during and with the band and how it effects your emotions, etc. then this is a great place to come. If you need support then we're your shoulder. This site can be one of your greatest resources and support networks.

So stick around and see what LBT and it's members are all about because for every 1 whiny post there are at least 25 helpful ones.

I could not have said it better myself. The bottom line is that no one is forcing ANYONE here to read certain posts/threads. Don't like it? Don't read it. Believe me, I understand being sick of reading the same stuff over and over. You know what I did? I stayed out of the sections that seemed to contain most of the threads that I found irritating.

Wow!

I have been reading this site for weeks and have learned so much that I feel blessed and grateful that this site even exists and for ALL of the posts that I have learned so much from.

On another note I have received the most thoughtful and informative responses to my posts that I already feel like I have a new family.

Maybe we should all try to open our hearts and minds and remember to look at this site as your extended friends and family.

Just my two cents

Jes

Oh should I post, or should I just pass this by....the decisions, the decisions...

Oh wait, that's my right, I can post. I can write about anything that moves me because wait, now why? Oh yeah the Constitution says I can. Something about the freedom of speech. Crazy founding fathers what were they thinking?

Don't like it, don't read it. Very simple.

The OP has every right to voice her opinion as well. Not everyone has to agree, but have the respect not to completely crush her, as has been the case. As has been stated above, if you don't like it, then don't read it. Practice what you preach.

HOWEVER... I do believe that many people here are here for a good reason -- to EDUCATE THEMSELVES! I love education and I am ALL FOR IT! For those here to educate and ask GENUWINE questions, I applaud you for your bravery!!!! Keep up the public education that is PRODUCTIVE!

LovePink, I hear your pain but it is what it is.

Most people that post have a question that they want answered.

Most people that post have a problem that needs addressing.

Most surgeons (not all) do not provide adequate aftercare support therefore LBT ect.

Someday you may find you are unable to reach your PCP to find out why you can't swallowyour own spit thats when a place like this will be of real value and you will be one of the complainers. JMHO

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
