Your very welcome, and keep me posted as well. Sounds like we have some similar hurdles to get over but I know we both can do it, with a little help from our friends.

Take care

Valerie

I am sure it would be safe to say that most of us in here are professional dieters... right?!? I have been on Atkins for the last year. It is really hard to stop thinking as a dieter....2 weeks before surgery I went to liquids....now I am into my 5th week post surgery & I am able to eat anything...I even called our nutritionist to confirm again that I am free to eat. I am on a hershy kiss fad & I treat myself to a few everyday as my dessert in the evening...in the back of my head I feel like I am cheating....BUT I AM NOT! The biggest thing my Dr's office encourages is that you are no longer a dieter...you are allowed to eat whatever...they press the issue of choosing healthy, whole foods. We must stop thinking of ourselves as "dieters" and realize we are in control & can choose what we want or what we need...all in moderation. Just thought I'd share my 2 cents.

Has anyone gotten to see the new series on cable called "I can make you thin"? It has the same mind set that you shouldn't diet, eat what you want, just stop when you're full. Very hard to get in that groove after all the years of self punishment, LOL. I love LiseSeattles remark about smashing a chocolate bar. Too funny!

i was fine until today!

Clear Liquids was fine, filled me up so fast and i got so creative with it, the same for full liquids. but today, first day for mushies, and it was like, OMG, FOOOOOD! and i found out what happens if you eat too much/too fast. it hurt! i don't know if i swallowed too much at once or if it was that i thought "just a bite of bacon will be ok, if i just chew it really well"

well, like i said, it hurt! and now i am so afraid i ripped some stitches inside or something. my first fill is not until april 26th. i know the way i feel now i'm thinking of just having full liquids until my fill, but thats only the pain/fear talking not reality.

i do hope i learned my lesson though. i do know that the Protein shakes were better tasting than that bacon anyway. don't know why i gave in, i'm not even a bacon eater usually

Okay, so in line with Liseinseattle's comment--and girl, I'm right there with ya...I had bites from brownie today that I coulda mashed the whole thing with a fork and called it good--but...while I was in the store tonight, looking for some way to "spice" up my full liquids--i.e: new flavors of pudding and jello--my eyes were suddenly drawn to a tub of the same consistency--i thought to myself, "Self, this would be the same texture as pudding...it's made the same way...hmmm....should be fine!" One problem--wasn't sugar free--it was Philadelphia Cream cheese Cheesecake Filling! Does anyone else see my logic here???

ok i have been threw the 2 week liquid diet and i cheated a lil bit havin sum fruit here and there , but the main thing is that all the bad food we are used to eating will always pop in our minds and we have to resist it! no matter what cause if we give in then we will have lost the fight! stay strong i know its not easy i will be banded wed the 26th and i cant wait to get it over with,, so if ur feeling hungry just make sure ur eating on low fat and low carb things ,, STAY STRONG!! AND I WISH U ALL THE LUCK ,, WE ALL NEED IT!!

I was banded on 3/19 and I've been on a pure liquid diet since then (6 days). I literally dream of eating - anything! I am so hungry! My nurse told me to follow the diet strictly because I could stretch out the pouch. I haven't had a fill yet. I'm getting grumpy!

The first 6 weeks is a time for healing, not losing weight. Your band is wide open, your "new tummy" doesn't exist yet. I'm still in the full liquid stage, but the doc told me yesterday that I only feel restricted from the bloating and swelling of the affected area. The liquids and mushies aren't because food cannot get through your band, it's because the docs don't want the stomach to work to hard to digest food and end up moving the band. Only after your first fill should you worry about stretching your pouch.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
