Texgirl, can you tell us more about the fill? Did it hurt? Did they go through the scar? I know I will be setting a date for my first fill when I have my post-op appt on Friday...I am hungry already at 7 days post -op.

Congrats on your first fill and on you 17lb loss!

Well, the fill didn't hurt at all. I actuallly asked "that's it?" I had heard they go through the scar but I have a bandaid right below my scar. I thought I could feel my port right above my scar but I guess not. They make you sit in the waiting room and drink a bottle of Water to make sure your not too tight. I had no problems at all with the water. I'm on liquids for 3 days and then mushies for three more. I guess after that we will see what kind of restriction I have. I'm really, really excited!

Lynn-

I have had the same pain also today...I think the pain is coming from the port area...boy it doubled me over the 3 times it has happened...I drove the kids to school, then home to take pain meds and go back to bed!!

Hi,

I have 2 year old twin boys and a 4 year old daughter. I am trying to be really good but I miss picking them up, etc. We are cuddling in big chairs and the couch. Hang in there, I am struggling too, but we will all feel better soon.

Hi Shamrocks!

Well, the last of us are now banded. We are all bandsters! Wonderful journey we are on!

I have to admit that I am still feeling crappy a lot. I did WAY too much today. I stopped at about 5 different places and by the time I got home, I paid for it. I have no plans to go out tomorrow. I am going to veg in front of the tv. OMG - what the heck is with tv? I mean it sucks! I have a couple of DVD's that I have waiting and I think I will spend tomorrow watching them. For the past 2 days I have been like a man with the clicker, just flicking through the various channels. I like sci fi - so I am glad they are replaying Battlestar Galactica. I missed some episodes so it will catch me up.

Fenton- I caught part of that show last night. I hope they replay it next week because I got several phone calls and couldn't concentrate. It was about emotional eating and I know I'll need that help.

I have to admit that the not feeling hungry is a novelty for me. I'm enjoying it! I always felt hungry prior to this. Whether it was real hunger or head hunger, I was always hungry. I know it will go away for awhile until I get to the sweet spot, so I am trying to enjoy this now.

BM's - well......water in, Water out.....nuff said

I think the lifting restriction is tough as well. My son is 11 so I don't have to worry about lifting him, but I am very careful when he hops on my lap or my bed. I sort of forgot a little today and I lifted several shopping bags. Next time, I'll be sure to grab one. I can use the walking exercise going back and forth to the car!

scale - victory - I haven't been weighing myself every day, but was very disappointed the few times I did because I weighed MORE than pre-surgery. I calmed down after reading a few other posts. Today I am below the pre-surgery number, so I am thrilled!!!!

OK, I'm long winded today..........but I am so happy for our group that we are all bandsters now. Let the weight loss continue and grow!

What is the difference between full liquids and mushies?

Full liquids you should be able to drink with a straw... mushies should need a spoon (or possibly a fork).

I was banded on march 21st. I keep coming back to this thread..lol. I have had no problems what so ever since I was banded, until this weekend. I went to Las Vegas three days after my surgery and felt good. I stayed there for four days. However, I have must of overdone it because I had a fainting spell Saturday. wasn't quite sure if I was getting enough calories or just plain tired. Anyways, I rested all weekend, and came to work today. I seem to be doing better today. lol, I was doing so well I was not sure if they really did the procedure on me, but now I know they did.

Well, I can't believe the end of March is here already and we have all been officially banded. I'm glad to be on this journey with all of you!! Go Shamrocks.

Well, Day 13 post-op for me, and I'm still getting tired very quickly. I found out today that my disability group at work approved my extended stay off of work til next Monday, so hopefully, this week I will get some of my stamina back. I need to start walking, I have to admit that I have just not been up to it and maybe that's part of my problem. I'll try to bring myself to do some walking on my treadmill tomorrow, I have to try to get some energy back. My port site is a little sore but the other incisions feel pretty good unless I press on them, lol.

Hi ---

I just finished reading the thread. I'd like to join too if I can. I was banded 3/19. I had clear liquid only for the first 4 days and then was allowed to add some skim milk after that. I'm hoping that means I will have a decent weight loss when I get weighed tomorrow for my first post-op check. I go back to see the nutritionist on Weds and then Thurs I start with a cream Soups and a few tablespoons of egg or yogurt or refried Beans a day. Most of my soreness is over but I'm feeling a bit whoosie from so few calories. I haven't gone back to work yet but I think I'll be back in a day or 2.

Welcome Penny! Not to sound bad or anything but it sounds like you have a very restrictive diet. Only a few of the shamRocks have it like you.

Good luck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
