March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Recommended Posts

AS IF SUMMONED FROM THE MISTS OF TIME - I reappear!

Hey all. I'm back.

I see that a few of us have had rough months, but the important thing is we're still in the game. I did really badly in March, I completely let myself go. Ate TERRIBLY, blah blah blah. It's been super high stress here, eased a bit now. And I enjoyed eating badly, or, at least, parts of it, but I've had enough of that, and want to get back up on the horse.

So I'm just back from getting a fill, and now, I suspect, I'll have some real restriction. It's a good feeling, actually, getting back to what I know I should've been doing all along.

And we have some great role models here - Scrappy and Andrew stand out, but I think we've all done pretty well for a year out.

One thing that's hard is finding time for exercise (at least right now, when I have major time constraints). I'm working out at least twice a week with my trainer, who's great (after my last session, I told her that I felt like the town hooker after a particularly busy Fleet Week), but I've not been doing as much cardio since they re-arranged the machines - now it feels like you're getting on stage if you ever step onto a treadmill.

Anyway, I'll get back to cardio.

But I ain't weighing-in until next Friday! I don't think I could take the full-on hit of my weight gain tomorrow, and a week'll let me get rid of the Water weight and a little more...

SO. Good to be back! Nice to see you all!

Hi everyone

i have not posted in months but have been doing alot of reading to catch up.I had my band a year on the 25th.it is amazing the things that happen in a year.I have lost 67lbs i'm happy with that because i have not always been a good bandster.I think I finally have correct restriction i can only eat about .5 of a cup of food after that I get the pain.

It is amazing how well we all have done despite the many things that came our way.

just wanted to say thanks to all of you,the journey is easier when shared with others.I still have the love hate relationship with the band but hey it's working.Take care all

Pat

I'm lurking out here too. I don't feel like I've been very actively trying to lose in the past few months but I did get back into a good eating pattern about 2 weeks ago after my Dad passed away. Today I put a pair of size 10 jeans on and I'm rather surprised. Others have noticed as well. I don't understand it but I'm thinking that perhaps my body just thinks it's time to lose again?

I'm glad to see so many of you here and you are all doing very well.

Indeed, Potatie has been another star!

I think we've all done a pretty rockin' job, so pats on the back all. And now we have to start GoalWatch.

I've been logging my food and that food has been healthy and in good proportions. Im measuring and weighting everything. If anything I am a bit low in calories.

I cut out the social drinking, which in the past has resulted in at least a few lbs lost. No such luck this time.

I've kicked up the work outs because my first Triathlon of the season is 15 days away. Plus I've added yoga.

I was hoping there was an inches change but no such luck.

I thought I had started losing again when 3 weeks ago I had a nice loss but some came back.

I had a fill 3/6. I'm not hungry between meals but I KNOW if I choose to have bigger portions it wouldn't be a problem. No sticking, PB's, sliming (which is wonderful).

My body doesn't seem ready to break this plateau.

Any suggestions?

Hi Amanda,

I was just looking up some info for my sister this morning about how to deal with a plateau. How frustrating! I found a couple interesting sites that I shared with her, so I figured I'd post the link here too:) Hopefully it can be of use to you??

This first one says to eat "something bad".. I'm curious how true this is? I've heard them say it several times on Biggest Loser..

Weight Loss Plateau - How to Deal with a Weight Loss Plateau

I'm not sure how much I understand this one.. It suggests eating even less calories and exercising more. What happens when you go back to normal intake and reglar exercise? Sounded interesting anyway..

SmartShape.com.au - How to break a weight loss plateau

And the last..

5 Ways to Break a Weight Loss Plateau

Hope these can be of help to you:)

Kerri

Amanda, the same thing happens to me all the time. I find just stick to what you are doing and it will happen, as long as you are exercising and not eating too many calories.

Hi Everyone, I know what you mean about the yo yo thing. I HATE it. I have finally found the grove again. :scared2: The weird thing is that I now like going to the gym.

Did anyone else have the same issue of not seeing the new thinner person that everyone else sees? I had that problem until I actually saw a real before picture of myself at my cousin's wedding. That was a real wake up call to see myself then to now. I was shocked at the difference. Also I was shocked when my doctor's office told me that I had lost over 17" off my waist and 4" off my neck. So that helps to keep me modivated. I am working on getting my photos posted soon.

Katie K. Happy FRIDAY!!!

Potatie, I still feel fat, I look in the mirror and still see a lot of it. When I look at a picture of myself that is when I can see that I have come a long way. Of course the pictures have me in clothes so it hides a lot of the fat I see.

Hi Scrappy, I am glad to know that I am not alone. Also thank you for your nice words on my success. I appreciate it. I can not believe how far you have come. You can really tell by looking at your pictures. :scared2: Keep up the GREAT JOB!!! We will both be to goal. I can not wait until I can have plastics.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
