:cool2:Hi everyone...just joined lap band talk. It's been very helpful. I had band on Nov.14th and have lost 38lbs. but 14lbs. were before surgery. Like alot of you, I,too can eat anything. I get hungry quickly, too. I see my dr. on March 7th but I won't get a fill for 2-3 weeks for he makes you have a barium swallow as he fills! I also have a 15cc band. I've only had a 2cc fill. Can't wait to see him. Dr. Goldstein in Voohrees, NJ:rolleyes2:

Welcome blueyelady57, you're doing really well.

I had my 4th fill today which brought me up to 7cc in a 10cc band. I can feel a difference already... hopefully it lasts. Looks like I might meet my Spring challenge goal. :)

Third day into my last fill and so far, I'm liking it. Not too tight, I think I could use .5 cc more, but I am FINALLY feeling full between meals. Still on softer food, so the next few days will tell me how chicken and firmer Protein goes down, but it's great to feel close.

I would love for this feeling to last until my next fill appt!

I know there is some restriction because I get that mild left shoulder pain when I inhale strongly when my band is full.

Finally, I feel like I have a band!

I went in for my 4th fill today but I didn't end up getting one. After talking to the nurse she told me it sounded like I didn't need one and she did not want me to be too tight. I really do think that is the right decision. There are days I think I need a fill and days I don't. Tonight I hard time eating so I am really glad I didn't get it. She said to give it a week and if I feel like I need one to come back and they will do it.

I was banded on Nov 2. I've had 4 fills, then 2 defills (too tight), and 1 fill after that. I'm currently at 4.6cc. I've reached restriction but may need a slight adjustment in the next few weeks. I've lost 27lbs which I'm not happy with, but I finally have my head in gear so I think things are going to start changing.

Skinny Jill, Sounds like you made a reasonable decision. I had another fill yesterday and the nurse and I talk and she thought I did need a fill and I agreed. I had a fill amount in mind, (.5cc's) but didn;t say anything to her about how much and asked her how much she thought I needed and she said the same thing .5cc, so I felt really good about that.

I like when the nurses work with us like that. I do think she seems a bit skeptical that I can eat the amounts of food that I told her I could, with the amount of fill in my band and honestly I am kind of surprised, too.

We went out Saturday to eat and I ordered chicken Francese and they gave me two pieces about 6 oz each and I was able to eat one whole piece plus a small salad. I was able to stop after the one peice, but never got that, "oh, I just can't finish this feeling".

I hope this fill cuts that down to about 4 oz.

You're doing great and we are both almost at the half way mark, it's just so hard to believe sometimes!

I've been banded for four months and have had one fill of 3cc in a 10cc band (details below). It's been nearly three months since then. My level of restriction varies during the day. In the early morning I can ony drink hot liquids. If I take a nap, I'm pretty tight when I wake up. At other times things go down easier, but if I eat chicken or meat I have to cut small pieces, eat consciously, chewing slowly and pacing myself, or I get stuck real good, and boy, it ain't pretty. I've completely stopped eating bread, pizza or baked dough products (good riddance) so don't know what the experience of eating them is like. I guess I've got restriction.

I've lost 21.13 kilo in four months with no pre-op diet; about 13 kilo in the first month and 8 since then. Guess that works out to .66 kilo or about 1.5 pounds per week for the last three months, after the big post-surgery loss. I'm happy with that, and I'm motivated to continue.

I'm now at 7.5cc in a 10cc band after my fill last Wednesday. I'm noticing a lot more restriction as each day passes. I'm thinking I will be okay as long as I can get past the Easter eggs this weekend... they slide right through! :cheers2:

I am at 7.5cc in a APL 14cc capacity band. I have been REAL TIGHT since my 5th??? fill a week 1/2 ago. I lost 8 pounds in that week! At my lapband support group thursday evening, the nurses were concerned that I was too tight until one of them asked if I was able to eat meat. When I said yes I could, their tune changed and they were all extatic about my weight loss. One of them, the program administrator, has had the band... she was super happy.

Cag-

You are catching up to me. Congrats on the 8lb loss! Woo-hoo! I probably gained what you lost just eating today. I feel like a stuffed pig. Darn Easter candy is going to do me in. I keep telling the kids to eat it as fast as they can so that I don't have to see it. Oh well just one day. I know I need a fill. I went conservative with the last one but I am more hungry so I think that I will have him give me a bit more on the 9th of April.

Hope your Easter was good. I love Easter service at my church. I lead worship so the music was very vibrant this morning. Not to mention I had to sing a special. Was a great holiday for me.

Cindy

I was banded in November 2007 and I have lost 47 lbs since the surgery. I hace 2cc in a 4cc band and I do not think I need anymore. I am happy with the weight loss, but of course I want to get the rest of this off too!!!

Good luck to everyone!

Glad to hear other people have times when they can hardly eat and times when they can eat what they want. I was hoping to drop my weight a bit faster and sometimes gain, which I hate and then work to lose it. A roller coaster ride, but all in all the weight is moving better than it did with dieting alone. Still have to pay attention to servings and of course the proper foods. Good luck to all.

I was banded Nov. 5th. I have 7.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I've lost 22 pounds. No pre-surgery diet. I have restriction but not enough. I had an appointment to see the doctor for a fill on Apr. 23 but called this morning to see if I could get in earlier. I now get my fill next Tuesday the 8th! Yay! Maybe I'll aske to take it up to 8.5cc's. It's a little scary for me though, I really don't like things that go down to do a reversal. It's not a pleasant thing.

I wanted to ask a question... the word "full" isn't what I experience when eating. It is more like a lump in my chest. The full feeling I knew before the band is no longer what I feel. It is painful if I eat too much and when I am hungry, I really am hungry! Not the head hunger but the physical hunger. I also have terrible rumblings in my stomach too. Sometimes it can be pretty embarrassing. It's not necessarily when I am hungry either, it just happens and sometimes goes on for a minute or two. Anyone else relate to that? How does your "full" feel?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
