Hmmm... never isn't an option on there. I've lost 10 lb in 6 months and am so restricted that I can hardly eat solids. It takes me 30+ minutes to eat 1/3 of a Breakfast burrito.

you may just be too restricted in the mornings. when i was at my sweet spot (had to get unfilled due to upcoming surgery), i was liquids only until at least 10am.

I am almost 7 weeks out. I started with a really low BMI so maybe I am not the best example. I have lost 10 lbs, no pre op diet. I had my first fill and only felt restriction for a few days. I have not lost any weight since my first fill which was 1.8cc in a 4 cc band. I am going to get another fill in a week or two, still waiting to see if this first one kicks in. With all of that being said, I lost the most of my 10 lbs the first few weeks post op. After the liquid stage was over I was able to eat a little too comfortably so the weight loss stopped.

Hi AudricIan:

I hear you!! I too am loosing slowly.:grouphug: I also started with one of the lower BMI's, (but still way too high for good health) and am finding that the weight loss is much slower than I expected. At 5' 2.5", and 60 pounds overweight, I was (still am) just one walking butterball (I carry it all above the waist).

In fact, after the first two weeks post surgery, I have not been loosing any faster than when I used to diet pre-band (I am 9 weeks s/p surgery). I would give my eyeteeth for 2 pounds a week--heck, even one pound a week would make me happy. Not happening. Been on a plateau for about 2 months. I have had three fills, and do have some restriction, but get hungry, and end up snacking. I eat good stuff-protein, veggies, lo carb, no sugar at all, but I am obviously eating sufficient calories to keep me from loosing. And I exercise 3-4 times a week. Doc said to aim for 800-1000 cal/day, but I am probably eating more like 1200. Any less, and I am so hungry I could eat the paint off a car. And bitchy? Woo Hoo. Still waiting for the " I'm not hungry" phase to kick in.

Right now, the ONLY positive feeling I have about the band is that, after this long of a plateau, in my past dieting history, I would have given up, and returned to my supersized portions, and high carb Snacks. At least with the band, I can't fall into that trap. So, for me, it is going to be a REALLY long haul. So when am I really going to start loosing weight? Beats the heck out of me!:)

I agree with josiebies....i was losing steadily, about 1 lb per week but then I went to Ireland for 2 week vacation and lost 7 lbs in that 2 weeks from walking. I kept up the walking when I returned home and also do Zumba 2 x per week and am losing 2 lbs per week. The exercise is a huge part of overall success....IMHO, even more than what you eat.

Its been coming off slowly But at least its coming OFF.I realy have to get my head in it, and get back on track. I get disgusted because I weigh myself everyday, I have to STOP that!!! Another big thing I stopped logging my food. Big mistake.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
