I went to Dr. Aceves in November and do not have a complaint!! Him and his staff are all professionals and the hospital is sooooo clean! I would definitely recommend him to anyone. I am going back this weekend to get my first fill. Fills are free for life, only cost is for the hospital's fluoroscope ($75.00). If you have ANY questions, please feel free to ask me or search for WASABUBBLEBUTT, she has lots of information and posts on here. Plus she wrote a wonderful sticky on how to research Mexican Doctors. Again let me know if you or your husband have any questions!! Steven

Hello Steven,

It is good to hear from you. I have a date with Dr. A in February and I am nervous as can be. It is good to hear that you had a great experience. Most posts state they have had a good experience with Dr. A, so I am looking forward to it. I can admit I do think of not waking up from surgery...but I am continuing to pray about that. I will ask my husband if he has any questions, and I will send you another post. He is still not too sure about all of this... as it is new to him. He does not like dr, hospitals, medicine, etc. He prefers natural remedies, but he seems to be supportive. Going to Mexico is another issue for him.......

Don't worry.. I had the same thought. It was over in no time and I was wide awake! Looking back I know it's all a mind game and I shouldn't have stressed over it, but I did. Now time to move on and lose some weight!! Do let me know if you have any questions. I am going down this weekend for a fill. I will let you know how that goes! Steven

you and your husband should rest assured your in good hands with dr.aceves and the hospital. both get a 10!! very clean and great bedside manners etc. going into mexicali, not sure if your driving or flying in. either way if you drive in, no problem. coming back out expect to have a pretty long wait getting back through u.s.customs. we just drove in for my daughters 1st fill in march and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes at the border. well worth it though, and worth every red cent for the band and all!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
