  1. From your messages above...I assume this dr will assist patients that have been banded in Mexico...I have been going to Mexico for fills, but the time it takes is an all day process.
  2. You are in good hands with Dr. Aceves and the staff. I feel like we are being ripped off in America when it comes to health care. Each Dr. that was part of the surgical team came and met with me before the surgery. I let them know my concerns with anastesia and it went great. I am going back tomorrow for my first fill and can not wait. I was banded on 2/15/08. I worried for nothing.......Great Choice...
  3. We waited about a week and a half. My husband ask the doctor when could we resume sexual activity and the dr aceves told him "whenever you want, I did not operate down there" LOL
  4. Banded on 2/15 and lost 14 pounds
  5. Hello, I was banded on 2/15 and today, I am feeling great. I responded to your response because I noticed that you had a hernia. I did too, that had to be repaired during surgery. It was on the top of my stomache growing into my esophogus (sp?). Where was yours. I was wondering how common is the hernia situation.... How are you feeling now?
  6. How long ago were you banded?
  7. Thank you for the response. I really love having somewhere to come to ask these questions to see what others have experienced.
  8. Thank you because I was somewhat worried. I emailed the doctors office to ask if this is normal. I am waiting on a response.
  9. Hello....I was just banded on 2/15/08 , and yesturday I noticed that one side of my stomach (where the port is located), appears to be slightly larger than the other side of my stomach (feeling across):confused2:. Can anyone shed any light on if this is normal or not.... I am so paranoid :tongue2: because I want this to work soooo bad, like others, I have tried every diet known to man and have not been sucessful for a long period of time.

  11. I of course told my husband. Even though I have two small children, my husband and I stated we were going on vacation to Mexico. My family does not know. I have three friends and one co-worker that knows. I had to tell my co-worker because she was the one I use to go to lunch with daily. Now that I am on liquids, she was wondering what was wrong. She knew I had spent time on lapbandtalk.com, so she figured it out. After I told her, I felt regret. She started saying things in the office, in front of others... I need to get the lapband surgery...well I guess I will just do slim fast....Loosing weight is not that serious. So I am looking at her thinking "what are you doing?". I am not sure how to tell my mother, n-laws and especially my sister. I think my mom will be cool, but my sister and dad . My husband said he would be willing to tell my n-laws, which is great for me. I know she knew something was up when I did not eat any of the chicken, soup and salad she had prepared (only on clear liquids now). My husband has often asked me what will I tell poeple when I start loosing weight and I have not decided yet...that is a good question....R others telling everyone they meet or just people they know...what.....:tongue2:
  12. Well I just decided to write because I am in my hotel room in Mexico very nervous. My surgery is tomorrow morning......thank you all for your posts...I have been logging on reading more than writing, getting information about previous banding experiences. I will post after my surgery....and add any tips I can for future bansters. Please Pray for Me...
  13. Thank you Anna, God Bless to you too...I am nervous and scared...but the date is finally here...
  14. Hello fellow feb bansters, Well as January comes to end, I am getting nervous. Did anyone have to watch the EMMI videos? I will be banded on 2/15. I am nervous about the surgery and the first month of liquids, etc.
  15. Hello, I am 30 days away from my surgery, and I am obsessed with this site. I am reading post all the time and they are great. However, I like to drink wine (not daily), but several times a week. Once I get banded, can I drink wine? If I can drink, How soon after the surgery? If not, I know I will be ok with that.....
