I am 14 days out from VGS and have a stinging burning pain at the site where the stomach was removed. Is this normal?

Yes, it's quite common. Take your Tylenol.

I’m 2 weeks out as well and yes I have the stinging feeling near my belly button. The NP said it’s from swelling and advice I take ibuprofen 4 hrs apart from Tylenol.

Check with your surgeon about taking ibuprofen. We’re all usually told to avoid all NSAIDs & often forever. There is a much higher risk of damage & ulcers forming in your much smaller tummy. As you have a sleeve you may eventually be told you can take the odd NSAID by your surgeon but highly doubt not this close to your surgery. I was told I could after two years but only half a dose & never on consecutive days.

Agreed. I had something not long ago (when I was 6-months out) - for the life of me I don't remember what it was, a headache or something. Tylenol wasn't helping. I asked my surgeon if I could take ibuprofen. I was advised that I could take one dose and I had to take omeprozole with it. Thankfully, it did the trick! But, yeah, they were really leery about letting me take the ibu.

Thanks for explaining. I’ll try not to take ibu. Hopefully it gets better in the next 2 weeks. I bought a compression tank and it seems to minimize the pain when walking or getting up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
