Shopping list

Recommended Posts

These attached photos are the lists that my surgery center (Virginia Mason, Seattle, WA) recommended. I'm not attaching the day 0-1 list, because you will be in the hospital probably that day. You'll notice slight variations from surgeon to surgeon. There are also a few other threads on this topic if you can use the search tool. Good luck!

Your surgeon should provide you with your plan including what you can eat when. Yes, there are variations in plans so It’s pretty important to follow the plan you’re given especially during the healing & recovery period (usually about the first 6 weeks).

If you haven’t been given a plan yet contact your surgeon’s office to ask for it. I got mine almost three weeks before which gave me plenty of time to familiarise myself with it, shop in preparation & ask any questions if I needed.

You can discuss any variations, clarifications or additions you may need or prefer with your surgeon during the healing stages & then your dietician as you progress.

All the best.

Hey guys, can anyone recommend shopping list definites for post of week 1 and 2?

Zero Sugar Pedialyte. Gatorade zero with Protein, Gatorade fit. Bone Broth. With my doctors it is more about staying hydrated. I was told to push the pedialyte and Gatorade for electrolytes. Protein Shakes.< br /> the pedialyte I tolerate better then Gatorade.

also recommend a hot water bottle to help push the gas through and gas x. And may want to alternate hot Water bottle with ice pack until the pain has resided.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
