The liquid diet i had while in the hospital wasn't bad. I know everyones bodies respond different. I slept. Other then when i got up to walk, shower & eat. I slept a lot.
Im traveling home & eating is a struggle traveling. They packed me food to bring on my plane rides. They packed: Water, Jello, gatorades, apple juices & chicken broth to bring with me. I have not ate meat in over three years. The chicken broth was my best Protein so I ate it.
bothered me a little.
but choose your battles.
ill be home soon

health is #1 priority.

How are the March ESG’s doing. Mine is tomorrow and I’m quite nervous. I have a 34 BMI and people are trying to talk me out of it

I'm day 10 Post Op and I feel ok. I've been to see my surgeon for follow up and she said I'm doing fine. I'm always exhausted but I did way too much way too soon. I've been a little nervous to start the pureed Stage but I did eat a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese last night. Think long and hard about it before you go, this is something that can't be reversed. Make sure you are sure.

March 23!
Any advice from those who recently had surgery? I’m flying into Vegas on 23rd, having surgery that day and flying home next day on 24th.
Then back to work Monday. Little nervous I won’t be able to handle it but I’m committed to fighting through it.

You are a stud if you can pull this off, I couldn't have done it. If you are committed I wish you all the luck in the world. Take lots of Water with a couple of Protein drinks; hopefully, they will give you pain meds. This is probably a ridiculous idea but could you also let a flight attendant know you've just had surgery? Maybe they could keep an eye on you while you're sleeping. Please have someone pick you up at the airport and I'd also let your employer know there's a chance you may not be in Monday. I hope you do great!!!!

I've had a suspiciously easy recovery so far. I was approved to go home the same day I had my sleeve surgery, and I only had nausea coming off anesthesia. I had no gas pain, and honestly, I'm doing really good still (10 days post-op today, I've been back at work since Monday).

All this being said, I'd prep yourself for everything just in case. I recommend extra comfy clothes, a pillow and blanket for the plane, a good neck pillow, eye mask, etc. Pack some single use alcohol wipes (my nurse opened one for me the one time I felt nauseous, and the scent chased away the nausea fast - great in moments where you can't move fast / aren't near a bathroom). Look into getting a couple LiquaCel packs. They travel good, and they tend to give these to you in the hospital, but you can order them online, too. Invest in some powder/liquid Tylenol.

And give yourself extra, extra time. You will be moving slow, and you could hurt yourself going too fast. Give yourself enough time to move as slowly as you want/as possible. ❤️ Good luck!

Just got my surgery date today - March 29th! It just got very real! I'm excited and slightly terrified. Lol. Overall, I feel ready after months of research and reading posts on this forum. I'm so grateful for the honesty, support and encouragement everyone here shares. I have mixed emotions and almost can't believe that my life could actually change for good. I had honestly stopped feeling like I could ever hope to reach my goals after decades of failed attempts. Best of luck to all of you!

I’m having surgery on 3/29 as well!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
