Christmas dinner purée club (December surgery!!)

Recommended Posts

WOOHOO! Congratulations.

You can puree anything, you may just have to add some sauce or gravy to it to thin it out a bit.

Get creative, have fun and enjoy!

Personally I wouldn’t want to try anything new on Christmas and risk spending half the day feeling sick. You can in theory puree anything though. I have a thing with consistency so I stuck to things that are supposed to be that way like mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes. I have heard a lot of people doing pumpkin purée at thanksgiving but I would wonder about the sugar in that (may want to check with your team). They also come up with a lot of seasonal yogurts and Protein Shakes that could help satisfy the need for something festive.

I will have surgery 2 days before Thanksgiving, so if I'm lucky I get to have a pumkin spice Protein Shake [emoji39]

I have seen a lot of people do refried Beans, chicken salad, baked ricotta and mashes for the pureed stage, you can search pinterest for some ideas

I pureed all my family dinners at my puree stage (and loved them, LOL) but I was out of that onto soft food in time for the holidays. You'll be fine and back on solids in no time. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
