i keep hearing about this method of pre op diet typically from people in the UK. It works i guess. For most here in the USA we do Protein Drinks several times a day for a certain amount of weeks (I did two weeks)

GOOD LUCK!

Sounds gross. I don't think I could do it. I love milk but couldn't handle the yogurt. I want to like it but just can't.

It seems to be a pre surgery diet preferred by UK surgeons. I would have been fine with the yoghurt but not the plain milk aspect. I ate high Protein yoghurt & yoghurt drinks every day instead of shakes after the liquid stage post surgery to help meet my protein goals. Shakes are disgusting.

My UK doctor had me on 3 weeks of skimmed milk and non carb vegetables. It wasn't to bad as pre op diets go but I was glad to get to the surgery day. I lost 15lbs and the surgeon said my liver was small

I have 4 different “menus” to choose from pre-op, that is one that’s offered. I have a milk intolerance - I’m ok with a little, but to much upsets my stomach/digestive process… so I’m doing one of the other options they offer (3 fairlife shakes a day, 72 oz of no sugar added juice + 64 or more ounces of Water or approved liquids).

We can either pick one of the 4 “menu” options each day (if you want to change it up) or stick with one option for 7 days. Then on the 8th day switch over to all Clear Liquids.

The nutritionist did say if we find ourselves struggling, since there’s no “food” outside of the yogurt (if you pick the milk and yogurt option) to call and they will modify the plan so we can safely fulfill the pre-surgical requirements and stay on track for surgery. Knowing there is a safety net if I need it makes me feel a little better, but I’m thinking I can make it through 8 days.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
