I'm so proud of everyone who has already gone through the surgery! Yall are all an inspiration that I can make it through this 2 weeks of liquid diet. Officially started today!!

Believe it or not that 2 week liquid diet helped me prepare for after surgery. I’m 2 days post op….. in pain but I’m doing well over all. 2oz of Protein every hour on the hour and Water or tea every 15 minutes. Is not an easy task… I feel full constantly but I have to get that protein and water in…

you’ve got this !

I had my two week follow up today. 23 lbs lost. Staples removed. Everything is looking good. They did permit me to move on to soft foods a day early, so today I had that glorious fried egg that I’ve been craving. I also had about half a cup of cottage cheese, and I made Ricotta bake and had about half a cup of it. Tomorrow I’m making some refried Beans with red sauce and cheddar…like Taco Bell used to make. I may survivor this after all. 😂

Are we supposed to be meeting Protein goals during the Clear Liquids portion of the post op diet? I am not allowed Protein Shakes until Saturday but I have Protein Water and I’m not sure if I should be trying to drink it….

Sounds like your plan is like mine and the short answer is no. At first you are just focused on staying hydrated. The number one reason for hospital readmission post bariatric surgery is dehydration.

Ditto this. I was concerned about it, too and my doc just said to focus on getting 40-64oz of fluids in and worry about Protein after Day 4.

Sounds like you are doing great! I'm still on the liquid diet until my surgery monday so those food sound amazing.

You shouldn’t have to go to hospital if you see signs of dehydration and don’t wait till it’s emergent. Just call your team and they should be able to arrange fluids as an out patient. I was so anxious about that for no reason. I just went to a different part of the hospital building and sat In a recliner while I got two bags of fluids. It was no big deal and I was good as new.

Hi All, my first post here and I have had my sleeve done today, a bit sore and have to wait until tomorrow to have leakage test before I can drink. Any tips for the next couple of weeks ahead?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
