Mahi mahi post op?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys im a little more than three weeks post-op VSG and my 2-4 week post-op diet plan soft foods, including different types of fish (salmon trout, halibut, flounder etc.). But they never specified whether mahi mahi was ok to have so im just curious if anybody has advice as to whether it's flaky enough or too tough to to have at this point. And if so fill me in on some delicious recipes never knew fish tasted so good until now! So mahi mahi is new to me

Mahi Mahi is a pretty firm fish. You may be able to tolerate a small amount depending on how cooked. Poaching will keep it softer than grilling, and you could add a small amount of a sauce to help soften it up. Just go slow with very small bites to see if you tolerate it.

I love mahi mahi, it is pretty much the only fish I eat.

However, I cannot remember when I started eating it again post op. I believe it was when I transitioned back into the normal diet phase.

at around 1 month post op i was eating tons of fish. Sockey Salmon, King Salmon, Halibut, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, shrimp, crab legs and smoked fish. No issues at all. I just took small bites and chewed well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
