Stand still for 3-4 months now

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyi e me again with another stall question. So for the past 3-4 months I have been at a stall. I keep gaining and losing the same 1-2 pounds. I have 20 more pounds to go to reach the doctor’s weight loss goal. I will be one year August 16. I also changed my exercise routine. My eating changed also as I am eating more foods as opposed to drinking my Protein. Is this normal?

Also forgot to add that I am trying to stop snacking. I have a cheese stick here, Protein chips, yogurt, fruit, cottage cheese. My guilt has been Teddy Grahams and Ritz baked and thin chips. I know this is bad and is probably the cause of my long long stall. I do see inches coming off however.

How tall are you? 173 you could be nearing the end of your loss depending on your height and weight loss slows down quite a bit near the end. I am 5’8” and mine totally stopped at 169. I am on meds that make you gain weight though and was warned I may not lose as much as people who aren’t on these meds. I’m sure that you will lose more if you cut back on the snacking but those last 20 or so pounds will go much slower than the first few. You may also try adding more exercise.

Your info says you had the surgery on May 20th of this year. That puts you at 6 1/2 weeks out. Maybe you need to just update your info. Beyond that, I would cut out the Snacks, make sure you're watching your Protein, carbs, and fats, and maybe increase your exercising. If you do it once a day, try twice a day. If you already do it twice a day, try doing different things per exercise session. Maybe add stretching or yoga.

I'm only 2 weeks post-op, so what do I know ... but if the inches are coming off, sounds like you're still progressing. Do you ever measure your body fat %? If it's going down but the weight is staying the same, I'd think that means you're gaining muscle which is wonderful. While weight is the easiest thing to measure, ultimately less fat is a more important goal than fewer pounds, isn't it? All that said ... you mentioned the snacking. So you probably know what else is really going on.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
