Have you tried a heating pad on the area? That helped break up some residual stubborn gas for me.

No I haven't. I don't have one, but I'll have my husband get one. Thanks!

You’re welcome- I found it to be so helpful after surgery.

Many people say it gets easier on the third day. Hope that holds true for you!

I agree…this experience and others in the past when I’ve done MediFast, day 3 seems easier than the first 2 days.
I think that is partly because carbohydrates make one want MORE carbohydrates. Eliminate the carbs, and I find that much if not all of my hunger goes away.
Today is day 3 for me. 2 shakes and a small leafy green salad with some Protein. A Greek yogurt if I need a snack. I’m way under 1000 calories. And I’m fine.
I’ve dropped 1/2 lb…I know I am a slow loser. But my students today were telling me that I look like I am losing weight. 🤷🏻‍♀️ what can I say?

The pain on swallowing is from swelling. It will improve. Took me a couple of days. I carried a sick bag when I was in hospital because I was producing so much saliva - my body trying to soothe my sore throat.

Walking & a heating pad will help with the gas pain. Also try leg exercises (even matching sitting down) & deep slow breathing to push the gas up & out your body - surgical gas rises & escapes through your upper body hence the shoulder pain.

I try the deep breaths but that's excruciating. I do the walking and heating pad, and that has helped. But deep breaths are still a problem.

Everything does get easier. Just persist & give it time.

Great bruises you’ve got there. 😉

Yeah, I wasn't expecting those lol The rest, yeah. But those are some nasty bruises. And I have to do those blood thinner shots 2x a day for 10 days. I'm not a fan, gotta be honest.

You look so happy pre-op and suffering but beautiful post-op. Thanks for sharing the pics I showed them to my tummy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
