Curious About Post-Op Days
The first two weeks I was achy, gassy, and slow moving. The binder helped a lot. I set a timer and sipped liquids slowly from small 1oz cups. The liquid goals seemed impossible to reach at first. I walked as much as I could several times a day albeit very slowly. Lived in fear of constipation but miralax daily helped as did a 1oz swig of prune juice. As I drifted off to sleep I would think of the non liquid foods I would have eventually like fish, meats, and eggs in a dreamy over the rainbow way which is humorous now as now much later I much prefer plant based proteins. Good luck take it one day at a day and be gentle with yourself.

5 months post op hair loss
I just chopped my hair off from a sassy Bob to a sassy pixie cut. The hair loss is getting on my nerves. I said I wouldn’t mind as my pre-surgery hair was so thick. But yuck. I’m tired of it. ?

What made you decide to have a WLS?
My reasons are similar to many listed here. Knee pain, so many meds for high blood pressure and diabetes. When my doc suggested it I enthusiastically said YES

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
Buying a pair of pants according to my measurements. Getting the pants home and looking at them and thinking these will never fit. Trying them on. Shocked that they fit. I would fit into those school desks now. There was one building at school with the worst desks that were attached to the floor. I suffered in those classes!

What Health Changes have you seen?
My diabetes numbers have fallen dramatically. Before surgery my highest a1c was 9.5 and now it’s 5.9. My daily blood glucose numbers are in the 90-110 range. No more snoring! No more knee or ankle pain. Blood pressure has improved. Medications have been stopped or cut. I feel great.

My First Binge :(
I had my first dumping experience yesterday. I got some refried beans at the taqueria. 1/2 cup and ooof! So nauseous and I had to go lay down with a cool washcloth on my forehead until it passed.
