that depends on how far you are in your post surgery... What phase you are at.

Check with your dietician. There are many caloric recommendations around but you have to find the one that is right for you. There are lots of factors to consider like gender, age, activity level, how far out you are, etc.

Some people are told to get to 1200 within a couple of months. There was no way I could have done that. I’m female, in my 50s, short & not very active. I was barely eating 900 by goal at 6 months & I could not physically eat more than I was. I only eat about 1300 now to maintain.

My surgeon and dietician didn't believe in counting calories, so they never gave me a limit. They said just eat small portions, focus on Protein first and when you're full, stop eating.

That being said, I normally see at your stage people here talking about 900.

My program has 1200 for women, 1400 for men from day one.

It increases to 1600 for women and 1800 for men at 6 months.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
