Cheated on my pre op

Recommended Posts

Anyone cheated on the pre op and everything was still ok for the go ahead of surgery?

I got told I need to do a 3 week pre op diet , eat anything I want aslong as it’s within 800-900 calories. First 4 days went great but slipped up last night and cheated.

still got 2 weeks and 2 days until my gastric sleeve surgery, do you think this will effect anything? Or if I stick to it 100% from now I should be okay?

I know I shouldn’t of cheated but I’m only human

Yeh you should be fine as long as you don't go crazy with cheating.

Make sure you're 90% on the plan, some slip ups are expected. And you still got 2 more weeks. So you should be fine. I was on 2 weeks of pre-Op and I had cheated a few times and I had gastric bypass.

But since you're told to do 3 weeks, your BMI may be on the higher side. So for your own surgery and it's safety, try your best to stick to your pre-Op diet.

Good Luck and don't beat yourself up. Just pick up from now and make sure you give your best. 😊

I'm not going to beat up on you, like you said we're only human, but this is so important that you need to stay focused on the big picture and the reason you've having WLS and stick to the pre-op diet going forward.

Every one who had to do a pre op diet sympathises with you. It sucks. After the 4th day it would have been easier to stick to the pre op diet, its such a shame you caved in. Surround yourself with low cal Snacks and focus on why you are doing this. I had to do 3 weeks too and it just showed me how to break with my food addiction. There are a couple of people who got surgery refused in the back pages of the forum but lots of people who got away with it. Try and keep with the restricted program, it will be less stress for you in the long run. Good luck

My pre-op diet was packaged protein-based foods (mostly Soups, drinks, bars, and there was an egg thing that you mixed a seasoning and Protein packet into), and it was SO HARD--a lot of it didn't taste very good and I was sooooooo hungry. I cheated on the diet a few times and ate "real" food and still managed to lose 11 pounds in 3 weeks and there were no issues with getting the procedure done...don't beat yourself up about it, get back on the horse and try your best to stick with it until your surgery. I think every one of us who has been through it sympathizes with your situation though, that pre-op diet sucks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
