I am due a consultation re-By-Pass surgery as soon as possible (me thinks, and hope they will consider me).

Now, I had the Gastric Banding 2007 when I was 17stones. Bad move. I lost weight initially, but found I could not even swallow my saliva.

Because I had it done privately, the NHS refused to help me when I got into difficulty. They did say-the Band had slipped out of position

or had been placed incorrectly. In 2009 they agreed to deflate it- so I have ballooned to 20+stones.

I am now prepared to have this bypass and hope this is the end of the ferris wheel.

I am 73 years old. Too old some may say. But I want to die slim!!

you aren't the first 70+ year old I've seen on this site! So you're not too old!

Honestly, I see just as many older people on this site as I do much younger ones. I think we all just want to be slim at any age.

I totally agree. I am also 73 and having RNY to RNY Revision. On my first visit I asked if I were too old. They said "absolutely no" and my primary care doctor concurs. Good luck!

I had my revision surgery yesterday. I’m surprised how easily I drink fluids.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
