Sick all the time

Recommended Posts

So I am just barely 7 months in my gastric bypass. I am actually beside myself. I am unable to eat pretty much anything. All meats or textured foods that I put to my lips, I actually start throwing up. My diet consists of broth... There might be an occasional cooked, really cooked carrot ,celery maybe onions. I developed a hernia and that was just repaired. My surgery has left me weak and malnutrition. I've lost 89 pounds and 7 months. I have a numbing from my legs to my boobs. I am looking for help, or any Ideas as to why? My surgeon advised me that it was all psychological. How when I wanna eat so badly. If there is anyone with some insight or ideas of what I might be doing wrong please.... I need help!

Kiddo, get a second opinion. ALL DOCS MAKE MISTAKES. Find another that does this and go for that second opinion.

I'd be concerned that it is a stricture. Did the surgeon do any tests or did they just jump straight to psychological? If no serious testing, then definitely go consult with another doctor. That isn't normal or healthy.

I hope you get this sorted.

those are pretty rare after the first three months post-op, but I suppose .. The numbing part is weird, though - unless it's from malnutrition? Anyway, yes, you're right - not normal or healthy. I'm hoping the surgeon checked all this out.

I agree with everything the has been said. Get a second opinion! Tell you it’s all in your head points to the doctor being unprofessional & crazy!

Have you tried a GOOD electrolyte Water?

I have been felling punie & my naturopath told me to get liquid IV or Drip Drops. Both are powders & both have Vitamins. I use a 1/2 stick per day & have been feeling so much better. They may seem expensive, but you are worth it!

I know it’s not the answer to everything that you are going through but it might help you feel better I’m the mean time.

Yeah I assumed this was an ongoing problem for a long while, not a new one that just developed.

strictures get progressively worse pretty quickly, to the point you can't even keep fluids down. At that point, it's an emergecy. I had two of them (at weeks 4 and 😎 eight (not sure why that emoji is there). It only took a few days before I couldn't keep Water down.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
