I'm sure you'll be able to, they usually have each constestants performance every week which is where I watch if I have to work or something.

Tonight was my favorite episode this season. Finally a good one, lol! I am 100% for David Cook! He did soooooo good !! I loved his whole performance. I think tonight the contestants really showed what they had or didn't have. It's no secret here I don't like David A. but tonight he did do good BUT I think Brooke, Syesha and David Cook did awesome and it will be hard for David A.'s cute baby boy looks to get him pass those 3.

BTW~ I had no idea that Mariah Carey wrote her own songs. I have a whole new respect for her now.

I found it on Youtube. I'm glad someone is quick to post the videos after the show.

I enjoyed everyone tonight except Syesha. I have some sort of disconnect with her performances. I was distracted during David Cook's performance, maybe I need to give him another chance to wow me. Everyone else did really well. I thought Carly looked amazing and trim tonight. That dress was the perfect cut for her body. I thought Simon should have mentioned that since he was so hard on her about her wardrobe a couple of weeks ago. Anyone know what the theme is for next week?

I totally agree with ya'll.

I couldn't believe that they were so hard on Carly, Kristie and Brooke. They were great. I wasn't thrilled with Syesha and they liked her! Go figure!

I was really amazed by Kristie's performance. Did anyone notice when Paula mentioned that Kristie planned her progression to become powerful from being weak?

I usually really enjoy anything David Cook does, but last night was wierd. First of all I could hardly hear him through most of the song and I had trouble understanding any of the words. If I've heard that song before, I'd never know it. I just was underwhelmed.

Didn't like David A.'s performance at all. Also didn't recognize the song, but then I've never been a huge Mariah fan. I know she's incredibly popular but I was surprised to know she's outsold Elvis, for heaven's sake! I think I have a new respect for her. I did know that she wrote her songs and she's sure looking lots better than she was there for a while when she was all puffy.

I agree that Carly looked fantastic! Perfect costume. Great pipes!

It seems to me that Brooke started out with lots of self-confidence and her voice was stronger. Now that she's taking all the hits from the judges, she seems almost apologetic in her body language and facial expressions. She has a great voice and has so much talent on the guitar and piano. She deserves more respect from them.

Has anyone noticed that the performances must sound very different in person than on TV? I think Simon mentioned that last year. Sure seemed like the case last night.

Anyway it'll be interesting to see how people voted tonight. I'm sure that someone I really like will be eliminated. The judges just adore little David A and I could live without him for another 5 years or so.

You know, I went to see Bon Jovi last night (don't ask me why, free tickets. LOL) and when I got there I found out that Daughtry was opening up for them. He did really well, but when he did this one song it sounded like a NIN song. I wonder if perhaps thats whose sueing him. But, either way, it was cool to see him in concert!

I am also going to see Bon Jovi and Daughtry on Saturday! I can't wait, Bon Jovi is amazing to be around for so long and still be making great music. I loved them in the 80's and still love them today! Daughtry is a great bonus!!

 :)

I was resisting on even opening up this thread today, but alas, I could not stop myself. I missed it last night because we were at the gym until 9:30. By the time we got home, I was exhausted and went straight to bed. Thank goodness for tivo, I will be watching it tonight before I watch the results show.

I have heard so much about David Cook's performance, I can't wait to see it.

I really liked Jason Castro tonight..I just cannot stand David A...I put my kids to bed early so as to not be near children for some part of my day...and then they go and put one on AI...not fair!

As I've said before, Syesha is so stinking beautiful...but not my favorite singer...she's only ok. Brooke sang that song really well, but you could see her shaking up there...they've destroyed her confidence. Carly sounded terrific last night...I know people don't like her, but I think her voice is phenominal.

I hate the nodding thank you David Cook does...so pretentious... and Kristie has lost my favor after her antics two weeks ago with the seat thing...spoil sport.

My vote is syesha for tonight...

Has anyone noticed that the performances must sound very different in person than on TV? I think Simon mentioned that last year. Sure seemed like the case last night.

They have to because I must have heard something different than them.

You all know, I love David Cook, but I really didn't think he did very well last night. What I could here of it, sounded really pitchy to me, especially the beginning. There must be a difference in what they hear and what we hear.

All in all, I was impressed last night.

Kristie is getting better and better each week. I thought she did pretty good.

Jason Castro did really well too!

Syesha is definitely a chameleon. To me, she doesn't have any originality. She tries to sound too much like the artist featured every week and she doesn't put her own spin on the songs. I guess she's not as "identifiable" (as the judges say) as the rest of them.

David Archuletta, well I wasn't fond of his performance. Technically, he did okay, but I just don't buy into him. He's no idiot though, his cheesy song choices appeal to the young girls and he knows it.

Carly did okay, I just can't get past her facial expressions, it's so over the top. She can definitely sing, she's just not one of my favorites.

Brooke's performance wasn't that great either. Towards the end, she got ahead of the music, but she pulled it back together. I felt like she was really nervous too, I could hear it in her voice. I still like Brooke because she is original. I hope she stays in the competition.

I hope Syesha leaves this week, but who knows, last week was a total shocker!

THANK GOD!!!

No more Kristy, now we can move on....

I bet next week Syesha will be gone, after that maybe Carly. This year is definately about the guys. I used to think, when the show first started, the last 2 remaining would be David A. and Brooke, now I'm not so sure and I'm sick of both of them. I really don't have a favorite, so who knows. Everyone seems to love Jason and David C. I like Jason, but he's just not the American Idol type, he belongs in a jam band or even could have a great solo career like Jack Johnson but American Idol is about BELTING IT and he just doesn't fit that bill. I think David C. is getting a little too cocky and its starting to make me want to puke, so does Donnie Osmond, I mean David A, and Brookes over the top gasping for air this is so serious I'm choking facial expressions.

I thought exactly the same thing about Michael Johns last night as I looked over the remaining contestants. Disappointing!

Poor Brooke has been broken I'm afraid. She came into this so strong and with a definite personality and style. Now she seems to be just fluttering and defensive. It's a real shame. Especially because I really like the tone of her voice and the style she started with.

Carly's expressions really drove me crazy in the beginning, but either I'm getting used to her or she's calmed them down a little. When she wears something complimentary and sings something you can tell she likes, I think she's pretty awesome now. I definitely think she has more strength than Jason Castro or David A.

I do like Jason Castro a lot, but I don't think he's very strong. If he can just stick to his own thing, he's great. But doing anything that crosses over makes him seem weak to me.

And I get it about David Cook's mannerisms. Sure take some getting used to. But on several of his best songs, I can forgive him almost anything.

Is anyone else besides me sitting there scratching their head and wondering what the heck happened tonight? I really thought Jason and Brooke would be in the bottom two with Jason going home. I am so confused.

I am. Carly was one of my favorites last night. I had picked it the same as you Susan. Then when I saw the bottom 2 I just knew Syesha would go. Not Carly!! She is just starting to really shine in my opinion!! How disappointing!!

I had a feeling that Brooke has a strong following. I knew that Jason Castro did. But I honestly thought he'd be out last night. It was almost as shocking as watching Michael Johns being voted off. Carly has the pipes, that's for sure.

Syesha is beautiful and she has a charming way about her, even if her voice isn't the best. She's destined to be a star, although I still think she belongs in movies.

Carly and Michael J. will go on to have big careers, I think. And am I the only one who thinks that David Cook has it in the bag at this point? I think he's awesome in the way he adapts every song he sings to his own voice. David A. does too, but it's just not a style that I care for. If he wins, I'll be very disappointed. He's cute and he's talented, and I think he has a very successful career ahead. But I think that David Cook can be as big or bigger than any of the previous winners. Especially if he keeps improving his look like he's been doing.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
