I believe you’re mentioning my post so I’m responding:

I don’t take exlax daily, it’s every week to week and a half. I do take magnesium daily. Miralax does not work even with daily use.

My surgeon has been absolutely useless with any help or answers post surgery and getting a call back isn’t going to happen . As per my PCP I “fired” my surgery center due to the issues I’ve had from the very start with them and incredibly rude, condescending, and unhelpful replies if I even get one at all.

My PCP doesn’t have any answers outside of things we’ve already covered. I’ve even tried mega dosing on Vitamin C and that doesn’t work as well.

whoop - sorry! I thought it was the OP's post. I saw ExLax in there and just knew I had to respond, so I wasn't paying attention to whose post it was. Thanks for clarifying - I"m glad to hear you're not taking it every day!

Short term, Miralax. Careful with laxatives, some create dependency if used a long time.

Long term, double the Water intake and add Fiber supplements. As soon as you can eat solids, eat plenty of raw cabbage, snap peas, blackberries, raspberries, apples with peel, etc.

I had to up my water intake to a gallon a day to fix my issue. I take 5 of these gummies daily.

I’m 20days out and I’m suffering from constipation. I’m meeting my Protein and Water goals and I am active throughout the day. I tried milk and magnesium and it doesn’t help. Anyone go through this and have any suggestions?

I hate to say it but, if nothing is working and you know you have a blockage, Fleet makes a suppositories that are little bottles. I just had this problem and it helped. I was taking Senna S every other day and Smooth Move tea at night but due to being a little dehydrated nothing was helping.

There is a laxative you can buy over the counter at your local pharmacy with the active ingredient called magnesium citrate - drink it and here comes the 💩. I will tell you is not pleasant at all but I assure you it works. Just a disclaimer kindly ask your, surgeon, if it's ok for you to take before buying at your own.

Smooth Move tea! You can find it in either tea section or health food section of some grocery stores. It has never failed me. Make cup of tea steep for 15 minutes covered squeeze tea bag n drink. By next morning or a few hours you are moving multiple times.

Totally common. What worked for me was Miralax to "get things going" then switching to sugar free fiber gummies. I can't remember who makes them, but for whatever reason, they seemed to do the trick. Good luck!

Ok I had this issue (I’m 2 weeks out today). How I solved it was Milk of Magnesia during the day and Miralax at night plus 2 stool softeners and you’ll start going. Plus all the Water. It will start. Finally yesterday morning I went like pre-surgery and I think I turned the corner. I’m only doing 2 softeners now. Feel better it will work!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
