I had my surgery December 7th! Anyone else feel like a twisting or spasm in the center of your sternum in the middle of the night? Wakes me up every night around 2-3am, comes and goes every few mins for a few hours then goes away.
Dec 23. Excited and nervous. Handling pre op liquid phase pretty well but I have to say I am sick of jello!

@Mimi0705

Congrats on your surgery! I had the same thing. I was told by my surgeon it’s stomach spasms. They should of given you a muscle relaxer or something to control those. I had my vsg the 2nd and occasionally have them now. So there is light at the end of the tunnel

Ha I wish it got better. I’m tired of anything liquid. 2 weeks pre op 3 weeks post op for me. Grab some sugar free popsicles they help me a lot lol

Waiting to board a flight to San Diego for surgery today.

I’m having mine on the 17th this coming Friday.

I'm schedule for RNY on Dec. 22nd! This liquid diet is rough....500 calories a day has me in a brainfog, for real.

I feel this. I’m 2 weeks post op and can barely get in my protein which is only 300 cals. Doing anything is exhausting. I’m not sure if it’s that way for others. Good luck with your surgery

I am currently scheduled for December 30th. Duodenal Switch. Cautiously optimistic but slightly anxious (family is driving me nuts)

December 9th! Post op 5 days today! Been in level pain of 6 and protein shakes have been my nightmare!! I gag every time I try and even try to take some down. Been very weak here & there for that particular reason! Anyone else having that issue?

Day 4 post opt. I couldn’t do the milk type protein shakes at all. My nutritionist had me buy the premier protein clear, and had me dilute significantly with water and ice. Life saver. I started strained cream of chicken and that was filling for lunch. Tonight I had a little chicken buillon cube in 8 ounces of hot water. I have not been able to nearly finish any of these but I don’t feel weak anymore. The pain for me was gone yesterday. My doctor said I shouldn’t be in constant pain. Sudden gas pain was normal. When I hiccup, I swear I’m gonna pass out from the sharp pain.

Omg yes I’m glad you said that I was researching others who had the same issue and came across someone saying premium protein clear and bought a whole pack today can’t wait to try it. I feel the same still having gas’s mostly after my walks and the hiccups are the worst part of it! Thank you for the tips! Anyone or maybe yourself use melatonin to sleep seems like I have insomnia after this whole surgery not sure if it’s good to take. I use to use 3mg dissolvable tabs.

I’m gonna have to dig up some melatonin in my med cabinet. Don’t feel sleepy at all, which of course makes me think of food.
