Struggling with emotions

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm due to have a bypass on Wednesday morning.

I'm really tearful and stressed. Is it lack of food?

I keep thinking what if it doesn't work.

I live in Spain and have paid to have it done as it's not covered in the health care here nd cost a lot of money.

I desperately want it but scared it will fail even tho my rather handsome (bonus) surgeon assures me it wont. I'm worried about recovery and not being able to eat.

Am I just driving myself and with anxiety? Am I just being a stupid nearly 50 year old woman.

Sorry

Xxx

Hello Chappers, I pray all is well. I think your just having last min jitters. Try not to think about what wont go right, and base your faith on everything that WILL go right in Jesus name! Just think about it soon all of those unwanted unhealthy habits will fall away, as well as the comorbidities. I am 3 weeks out, and honestly it is the best decision I could have ever made for myself. Already down 25lbs, and I feel so amazing. Although it will be work to go along with it, you got this! Just have a little faith Sister! We are all here for you![emoji93][emoji93][emoji1545][emoji1545]

My surgery was May 28, and I'm doing well. I've lost over 60 pounds, and none of my clothes fit any more. (That's a good thing!) My new stomach tells me when to stop eating, and I'm learning the lessons. That's probably something everyone goes through, but there have been a few times when I ate too much and it was uncomfortable.

Over the years, I've lost and regained 50 or more pounds three or four times. Finally, I think I have a way to lose weight and keep it off. I think you'll be happy too, three or four months from surgery when your weight is coming down.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

I'm sure the lack of food has a lot to do with it. I'm not sure if you've also had to quit caffeine, etc, as well leading up to surgery but it's a lot of jarring changes in the lead up to surgery day. Journaling was really helpful to me. Good luck with your surgery! You won't regret it!

Hang in there - you’re doing fine, and many of us have experienced those feelings. Good luck and God Bless!

I was very nervous leading up to surgery. It's very stressful, especially if you've never had surgery before, like me. I'm three weeks out now, and eating is hard, and I know some people feel very regretful for the first month, but then they start to feel very happy once life gets easier and the weight comes off.

You can do this!

You are going to do just fine!! And you will be so happy you did this for yourself. I am almost one year out from my bypass, and life is so much better now. I am healthy and grateful. The next couple of months will be a learning period for you, but just go easy on yourself. I tried to eat solid foods earlier than I should have, and it gave me an upset stomach every time I did, but other than that I had no problems after surgery, and I'm sure you won't either. After a couple of months, I could eat anything with no problem. Good luck, and let us know how you're doing after you get back home from surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
