Typically it depends on your insurance and your surgeons availability. I had to wait about 3 months out because of scheduling, but my best friend only had to wait 3 weeks. I'd contact your doctor's office in order to get a solid answer.

I believe they only have 30 days to decide. It only took my insurance 3 days to approve my surgery; I think they are usually pretty good about answering within the first two weeks. So I would ask the provider's office how far are they booked out.

My surgeon was booked out 3.5 weeks. My insurance came back with the approval in 3 days, so about a month after all my i's were dotted and my t's crossed.

When my Surgeon submitted the paperwork to the insurance company he gave me a tentative date which was about a month away. I had my approval in about 3 days. The Surgeon said it sometimes takes 2 weeks for approval but he scheduled me anyway because he felt approval was inevitable given all the documentation and testing I completed.

My surgery was about three weeks after that last appointment. It was already scheduled months prior though cause I was starting a new medication I couldn’t be on during surgery and the two doctors had to figure out when I should start taking it. They scheduled surgery and said I should take two weeks after.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
