I have PCOS but my periods have been regular since I use Yasmin. I had my vsg done over a week ago and got my period 3 days post-op. I started Yasmin again but noticed my period is heavier and where usually it lasts 3-5 days, it’s almost been a week now. Is that normal?

yes. Lots of women report mood swings and screwed-up menstrual cycles the first few weeks (or months) after surgery. It eventually settles down and stabilizes. It's supposedly due to excess estrogen being released. Estrogen is stored in fat cells, and it's released during rapid weight loss. As I said, it'll eventually stabilize and go back to normal - but it takes a few weeks (or months)

Mine was sort of heavier too and I had breakthrough bleeding for a while. It normalized now I am almost 4 months out.

I also struggle with PCOS and never had periods without Provera before surgery. I got my period 3 days post op until day 7 and I spot basically every other day now (I'm 2 weeks postop today) and was told that it was normal so my suggestion is just wear liners every day just in case ):

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
