Had Duodenal Switch May 12th 2021 terribly nauseous

Definitely talk to your dr. I’m only 3 days out and my nausea is getting better. I hope this doesn’t last too long for you!

I would talk to your surgery team. They may be able to prescribe something, although often anti-nausea meds make you sleepy so you wouldn't be able to drive. Just check in with them.

I had low level nausea for 1 1/2 months post surgery with AWFUL stomach gas that my surgeon said was acid reflux but I don't think so. Definitely talk to your surgeon and the dietician that they work with. The meds my surgeon prescribed didn't help at all, but the food intake plan that my dietician came up with did.

Also, I encourage you to listen to your body. Don't rush into eating food if it doesn't make you feel good. I really should have stayed on a liquid diet for a full month after surgery....I think I would have felt so much better if I had.

I had my ds surgery on June 3rd 2020 and still have nausea. My surgeon still prescribes me Zofran 8mg under tongue. Hope this helps.

It took me 4 days to realize, but every time I took my prescription Prilosec I got so nauseated I could cry. Once I stopped the Prilosec, I've not been nauseated again. I think it was a me thing, so not saying you're issue is the same. Just a small possibility in case it helps.

I'm 18 months post op and still occasionally have nausea issues. I just take Ginger Root and the nausea goes away. You can find it in your local Vitamin store.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
