What is your 1st major milestone?

Recommended Posts

Working in project management for a global company, I create and manage project schedules with major and minor milestones. While going thru this process, I wanted to create a milestone schedule for my "project", Me! I am coming up on my first major milestone, that I set for the first 30 days since surgery. BMI under 30. As of today, my BMI is 30.3 and I am 3 days from 1 month post op. I may not meet the 30 day milestone date, but only two more pounds and I will reach my 1st BMI milestone. This is a big deal for me, as I have not been under 30 BMI in over 15 years.

What is/was your 1st major milestone? 😊

Great topic! My milestones were:

1. Leaving Obesity Class 3 with BMI < 40

2. Leaving Class 2 with BMI < 35

3. Leaving Class 1 with BMI < 30 and being classified as just "Overweight'"

4. Stop taking high blood pressure medication once pressure was in the normal range

5. Running a mile. Completed four months of physical therapy, was able to run and hip pain went away.

6. Running two miles

7. My final milestone was to reach my goal weight of 190 lbs. (Initial was 300 lbs.).

1st milestone reached!! Officially under 30BMI!!! Yes, its only .1 under at 29.9...but I'll take it! Next milestone is to have lost more than I have to lose. 4 more pounds and I'll hit that milestone! 😁

Love this topic! So far my milestones have been:

  1. BMI under 40 and out of the obese class III category
  2. Being able to walk my neighborhood hills without stopping for a break.
  3. Reaching my most recent "low" weight of 130
  4. Reaching 215-220, the weight range I maintained between ages 25-35
  5. Body fat composition being below 50% fat (it's at 49% right now, but still)
  6. fitting into my smaller sized clothing stash

Upcoming short to mid-term milestones that I am looking forward to include being under 200#, BMI under 35, weighing less than my husband, and walking the neighborhood hill loop in under 40 minutes.

I love milestone targets! Helps me gauge my progress to the end goal with small victories to keep me motivated!

Love the idea! My milestones were/are:
1. Being under 40 BMI -done
2. Losing 100 lbs- done
3. Being “overweight” (just reached this!)
4. Unsubscribing from Torrid and Lane Bryant emails- done
5. Fitting in my wedding rings- done
6. Finishing a couch to 5k app- just 1.5 weeks away!
7. Losing 150 lbs- I’m getting closer!
8. Hitting a normal weight - still a little way off from this but still working toward it

I never planned for some milestones that were huge for me like fitting in the conference room chairs at work, being able to cross my legs, buckling my seatbelt without struggle, etc.

Oh, but a huge milestone I forgot- onederland! And I’m 6.2 lbs from it, but who’s counting right?

Onederland was my first milestone. 180 which is the weight I can remember that I was when I did bowling league and other social things and enjoyed them is next. I hope to get to 160 which will be a normal BMI for me but I would be thrilled with 180 if I can stay there.

I guess I wouldn't make a very good project manager (I've always known this!). I just plod away, one foot in front of the other, head down, being a worker bee. I'm trying to think of Mini Goals.

Here's what I can come up with:

1) BMI under 40 (225lb)

2) Onederland

3) Fitting in "straight" sizes

4) Under my lowest adult weight of 179

5) BMI under 30 (169lb)

6) BMI in the healthy range 141lbs (stretch goal)

So, I have finally reached my next milestone! I have lost 42 pounds and have 40 more pounds to reach my goal. It took a little over two weeks to lose those 4lbs..slow and steady!!

Next milestone is to hit 150lbs. It may take me all summer, but I will get there! 😊

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
