I am 1 week post op today and I can say im down almost 10 pounds. I am drinking the different Protein premium drinks, sugar free Gatorade and Water. Trust me when I say its a struggle at times getting 64 oz in if I dont start drinking by 6am. But what I hate so far is this nauseous feeling. Also I hate these muxed berry chewable vitamins by Bariatric Advantage. They are nasty as hell and makes me want to puke. The wild cherry chewable calcium citrate Vitamins not too bad. I call myself getting bariatric specific so i want have to take alot of pills. Im thinking now I probably have should went with the flintstone vitamins.

It will get better. Multi Vitamins can make some people nauseous - they did me. Plus your tastebuds are pretty screwy over the first couple of months so lots of things will taste off & or disgusting. It can take a bit of trial & error to find things that you can tolerate. Again it does get better.

My surgeon said it could be challenging to reach Fluid & Protein goals to begin but as long as I was making an effort & was close to goal he was happy. Don’t forget all your shakes add to your fluid goal too.

Congrats on your surgery.

Yea I was told that the Protein Drinks wasnt included in the fluid goal. But if so that would really help a girl out. Lol

My doctors told me that the shakes were not part of the Fluid intake also. But after 6 months it does count. I am almost 9 months out now. I still drink 1/2 gal of Water a day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
